This might actually be a regression of MC-117118; now it is possible to place buttons and levers on trapdoors again, which behave the same way.
@szesz febijen temes, would you mind if this report covered buttons and levers as well?
The bug might rather be that you can place them on the trapdoor in the first place. If that is not a bug then there is a different bug that pressure plates cannot be placed on closed trapdoors.
Can't place buttons/levers on trapdoors anymore.
