4:3 is WAI.

The bug
When running Minecraft at an aspect ratio taller than 16:9, the crafting UI changes. Normally, when you use the new recipe book in a crafting table, it will appear beside the crafting table UI, so that you can view and craft at the same time.
However, in taller aspect ratios than 16:9, this functionality is lost, because the UI appears above the crafting table, and when any recipes are clicked, the UI disappears, but the recipe does not show up on the crafting grid.
To be clear, the UI works fine with aspect ratios SHORTER than 16:9, so 16:8, etc, works fine. But things like 3:2, 4:3, or 1:1, or example, don't work.
Problems
- As described in
MC-115071the "inventory" rendered behind the crafting help is not actually the player inventory. The slots appear always empty even if the player has items in these slots. - The player model is rendered in gray in front of the recipe book GUI, see
MC-116761.
Note from original poster
I'm actually no longer experiencing this issue. On my device, it works fine. For me, It was fixed in 17w14a, but still affects other people. Not sure if this information is important, but thought I would mention it.
Changed the summary to be hopefully describe the bug a little bit better. This looks really not like it is intended. Maybe Maria Lemón understood it wrong since you cannot tell when someone is clicking or holding their mouse buttons when you watch a video.
The problem is that the cursor is kind of stuck in the drag mode (but not distributing items anymore) once you move it over the recipe book and release the mouse button.
Could be intended, see this comment by Maria Lemón, but it is inconsistent with pumpkins which can be confusing.
See Maria Lemón's comment.

Sorry about this I have looked into it extensively and worked together with our accessibility team. Right now we need to have a certain degree of accessibility in the game or we are not allowed to do any more updates. One of the requirements is to be able to navigate in menus without using the mouse. Tab was implemented to have that functionality and it takes president in the inventory since there is a button in there that needs to be accessible. Trying to fix this issue has highlighted several issues with our system for assigning buttons to specific actions. If we fix the bug with tab not having to be bound to accessibility we have to make it possible to rebind the focus of buttons. Doing that will clash with showing players online on a server which is tab by default and to fix this we need to do more extensive work on our underlying system. Right now it is out of scope for us to fix this in 1.14 but is definitely something we want to fix further on why it is postponed.

The bug
Binding "Open/Close Inventory" to Tab only allows you to open your inventory. To close it you must push Esc. This does not happen with any other key.
For instance, if you bind this function to G, pushing G will both open and close your inventory.
@Maria Lemón, the crash appears to be fixed, but the dragon still flies to the highest point (which can be 0 or 255) in 1.14.2-pre2.
Should MC-88371 be about that and was only the crash fixed?
- Not possible (yet) because of technical reasons, as explained by Maria Lemón above.
- Probably not possible because Mojang is required to provide accessibility features. And it must be impossible to accidentally turn accessibility features off, since users who rely on it then couldn't re-enable it.
These are all good ideas, but for the reasons that Maria Lemón mentioned above, they won't be implemented until 1.15 earliest.
Right now it is out of scope for us to fix this in 1.14 but is definitely something we want to fix further on why it is postponed.
@Maria Lemón today I found on my server 1.14.2 vanilla that villager in a box 2by2by2 with 1block thick cobblestone wall (with corners) disappeared. Only things inside were recently cured zombie villager and lantern. Attaching screenshot of cage.
13 other villagers that I cured from zombie villager and holding in similar cages (2by2by2, nongrass floor to avoid raiders spawn, lit up with torches, workstation in 2by2 area) did not disappeared.
EDIT: Also dying villagers doesn't left claimed beds and workstations, but those disappearing left behind claimed POIs that new villagers can't use unless thoise POIs are replaced.
Duplicate of MC-155262.
As per Maria Lemón's comment on that ticket, villagers need to be able to pathfind to their beds in 1.14.3.
I have a series of backups that have a before and after where 3 specific villagers were present in the first and missing in the second. It was about a 5hr AFK inbetween backups.
If you think this can help, let me know how can i get the zip files to you ?
Regard
Richard
PS: It is a Hardcore game.
On closer inspection, where there are villagers that have gone missing, there are also mine-carts missing. These 3 villagers were in a farm using the stacked hopper mine-carts to catch the farmed produce. In all 3 cases, both of the stacked hopper carts are missing too.
Other missing villagers were not in or near a cart.
Hope this helps
Richard

Maria Lemón I'm pretty sure this is NOT working as intended. Look at this example:

The reason for why this has not been fixed yet has been explained by Maria Lemón in her comment above. Basically, the game needs to fulfil certain accessibility requirements, and fixing this bug seems to be fairly difficult with Minecraft's current GUI system if you don't want to break the ability to navigate through GUIs with Tab.
I'll ask whether the priority of this bug can be raised, but don't expect this issue to be fixed too soon.
@Maria Lemón
remove every other bed so they are not right next to each other to watch them slide off the beds.
then put walls 2 blocks high between the beds and see what happenes after a few nights go by.

Consistent behavior now for potions.
To create a splash potion with no effect but a custom color you can always use:
{CustomPotionColor:"someColorValue"}/give @p minecraft:splash_potion 1 0
Certain recipes which are not available in the recipe book are exempt from this rule for now.
Can't swim with parrots. As soon as the player takes damage the parrot flies off.
Can add that this was reproducible by having a parrot on your shoulder logging out then in again.
Partially fixed. When dying and disconnecting from a server the items are not deleted anymore. In the other case with closing the game is a Won't fix.
Try using a crafting bench for 3x3 recipes.
It would help me if you included which resolution you found the issue. Since this is how it should look if the screen is not big enough for the GUI.
Can't place buttons/levers on trapdoors anymore.
Can't place buttons/levers on trapdoors anymore.
Which recipes?
No they still imitate creepers. Since they main idea is for them to be an early warning system for hostile mobs. Logically though they should not be able to imitate mobs that has been specifically set to silent.
Fixed in 17w16a
Fixed in previous version.
Won't fix since it only affects worlds created in previous snapshots.
Some are fixed and rest is WAI.
Well we didn't want to cause seizures to epileptic players but did not want to remove the feature.
Jack o lanterns are now treated the same as Sea lanterns and glowstone blocks. Fences, walls, iron bars, glass panes, buttons, levers and torches can not be placed on them.
This is WAI but there is a bug with the recipe bok not getting updated properly when moving stuff to the crafting grid which is fixed in the next update.
Fixed the issue where you could not drop items where a tab could appear but the creative inventory is still WAI.
Not all recipes are supported by the recipe book yet including tipped arrows. I have added a error message for when trying to unlock these in the next pre release.
There is a recipe named tippedarrow so the autocomplete is technically correct but we are not supporting it in the recipe book yet among certain other recipes like fireworks, map cloning, map extending, Armor dyeing, book cloning, repair items, banner patterns, shield patterns and most of the shulker box recipes. That is not fixed.
Need more information since unable to reproduce.
Need more information since cannot reproduce.
I have not been able to reproduce this issue maybe you could provide me with some more details? Tested teleporting 30000 blocks with parrot on shoulder and it works fine in Pre 5.
Tested in Pre 5 and it worked fine there. Can you still reproduce the issue in Pre release 5?
Is this still an issue in pre release 5? I have not been able to reproduce the issue.
4:3 is WAI.
This is WAI. You can still craft a dispenser manually with your enchanted bow but the recipe book will not use or recognize items that has been named or enchanted. The recipe book is primarily an in game wiki and help for new players and not an all around solution for easier crafting.
Is this still the case in Pre-6?
Parrots dismounts when the player is a passenger of something. WAI.
Talking it through we have decided to keep the 1.11 implementation so pumpkins and jack'o'lanterns behave the same. So Lever, Redstone Torch, Button (stone_button), Tripwire Hook, Button (wooden_button), Torch and Ladder can be placed on jack'o'lantern again.
Was specific issue for when showing the ghost recipe for a shaped recipe with "holes" as part of the ingredient list such as shields and pickaxes.
Cannot reproduce the issue. Could someone provide me with an reproducible scenario?
WAI, the firework is rendered so the player can always see it since the entity itself is only a 2D item.
You should be able to push the villager around and out of bed but when they leave the bed area they should stop sleeping.
Can't reproduce in 1.14

If anyone has some way of reproducing this bug reliably it would help us enormously. Been trying for a few hours now and have not had it happen for me at all.
Iron golems attack you if you have too low reputation with villagers nearby and will continue to be aggressive until the reputation goes up again or the reputation goes up after a time since villagers are not keeping a grudge forever.
Is it possible that this could be a cause of this bug? https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-151810
Or has anyone had villagers disappearing when they are confined to a safe area?
Ok thanks. I have been trying to reproduce this bug for 2 weeks now off and on since it is a very severe bug and needs to be fixed. I have also noticed it happen but not been able to recreate it.
Is this still an issue in 1.14.3?
After fixing this bug https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-145863 Villagers now has to be able to reach the bed to be able to reproduce.
Related? https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-27535
Have you tested it on 1.14.4 pre release 1?
Parrots should only imitate hostile mobs. They should not imitate pandas and that will be fixed.
Can someone recheck this since I can't reproduce the issue?
This is not because they sink down but because they are partly outside of the water. The item gets significantly slowed down from the soul sand slow movement effect och stops before it is fully inside of the water block. So since it is partly in water and partly not it get an upforce from the bubble column but a down force from being in the air so it just stays in place. I'm unsure of a good solution right now.
Attached an image (2019-07-02_08.43.15.png
) of the one time I managed to reproduce the issue. Could not get it to happen again after that though.
