Signs placed on walls have a gap behind them.
When you place a sign on the wall and look at it from the side, you can see a gap between the back of the sign and the wall. See attached screenshot.

Okay, thanks. For future reference, if a moderator mistakenly flags another one of my issues as a duplicate, how should I let him/her know?
Seems to me if a sign floats on an opaque block, then it would also float on non-opaque blocks. I will delegate with other moderators about this issue. In the future, please note that if you comment about the resolution of an issue, you may have to wait more than 5 minutes for a response.
