EDIT: actually, on second thought, 1.13.2 could be added to affects versions, so that this ticket gets listed on the "from released versions prior to 1.14" section on the 1.14 wiki page
Now in 18w45a it is possible to move the text cursor with the arrow keys, and select / copy / paste text, but it's not possible to perform some of these actions with the mouse cursor (like in a book).
Reopened.
Shouldn't that be left to a separate ticket?
I felt that it was overkill for the small sign edit feature (in comparison to books), so wasn't planned. Would be great if it could be a separate feature request.
