Stalagmites cause no damage to the player when the gamerule "fallDamage" is set to false
This makes no sense as you should not be taking fall damage from the stalagmites, but rather the stalagmites hurting the player because of their sharpness

relates to
When dripstone fall upon:
Minecart:
- All varients including command block minecart.
- TNT minecart does not detonate. WAI?
End Crystal
Item Frame
Painting
Armor Stand
The entity is destroyed.
Boats whether on land or water are not destroyed by falling dripstone.
When Minecarts, Boats, and Armor Stands fall on Stalagmites, they are not destroyed because they are immune to fall damage.
This seems to affect all mobs that are immune to fall damage. The damage from them technically seems to be fall damage, which also causes MC-206674 to be a thing.
Most likely a duplicate of MC-206674, if not WAI
I can confirm.
The damage from stalagmites seems to be fall damage technically, which is probably why it is affected by the gamerule. This also causes
MC-206555to be a thing.I have done some research and I can say that stalagmites work exactly like hay (well, or bed / honey) They just change the fall damage in%. Falling on hay takes 20% of normal fall damage. Falling on the bed 50%. Falling on the stalagmite ~ 500%. This means that the iron golem, cats, chickens, a player with a feather falling will not take damage from stalagmites AT ALL
