Deepslate can only be default block for the Overworld, causing nether ores to not generate if "deepslate_enabled" in the Nether is set to true.
As you can see, there is not a single ore generated in the deepslate. Altough, this may be intentional.

Enabling aquifers in ultrawarm dimensions (the Nether) can generate with water. This is probably caused by the change that aquifers below Y=0 can be lava aquifers, because it didn't happen before.
Placing the water will make it disappear, but generated water behaves like in the Overworld, even if you do a block update next to it.
Discovered while testing MC-220771.
Enabling noise caves in the nether creates lots of floating islands above crazy huge caves, which are quite cool, but I don't think they are supposed to generate that big.

WAI. The Nether biomes do not generate overworld ores. Only Overworld biomes generate overworld ores. If you want deepslate ores in the Nether, you have to add them by editing the biome's .json file.
You misunderstood this ticket. This is about the nether ores not generating in the deepslate as it isn't in the "default_block_nether" tag.
This is caused by two reasons, the absence of deepslate in the "default_block_nether" tag, and the fact that the nether gold ore and nether quartz ore only generate in netherrack. Ancient debris however generates in the "default_block_nether" tag. This is probably WAI as the ores don't generate in deepslate and only generate in netherrack except ancient debris.
You need to put deepslate into the nether_base_stone tag to have the nether ores ganerate
I know. It should be like that by default, unless the under Y=0 block can be changed into anything other than deepslate.
But then this is a feature request.
