Despite not being sharp like a sword, maces will cause cobwebs to break faster and drop string.
What I expected to happen was…
When I try to mine a cobweb with a mace, it will mine very slowly as if I’m using my hand.
What happened instead was…
The cobweb broke very fast and dropped string, as if I’m using a sword.
Steps to reproduce
- Grab a mace out of the creative inventory.
- Place cobwebs in front of the player.
- Switch gamemode to survival.
- Mine the cobweb while holding the mace.
The cobweb will break very fast and drop string.

Summary
Just like MC-269513 (Was Fixed in 24w12a Snapshot, That breaks parity)
Despite not being sharp like a sword, maces will cause cobwebs & bamboos to break faster.
The cobwebs can also be dropped into strings.

Steps to reproduce
- Take a mace to your creative inventory
- Place cobwebs or bamboo in front of the player
- Switch gamemode to survival
- Mine the cobweb/bamboo while holding the mace
Observed Result
The cobweb and bamboo broke way faster, same as a sword.
Expected Behavior
When trying to mine a cobweb & bamboo with a mace, It will mine very slowly like a hand correctly.

i can confirm too. i thing mojang just copied the diamond sword
