The '~' symbol does not work on Mac
Steps to reproduce
- Make sure you are using Mac
- Head into chat or open a sign/book and try to type alt+N
- It will not type the ~ symbol, this means you cannot use coordinates in relation to your current ones on commands involving coordinates (/tp, /setblock, /testblock, /testfor, /summon, /spawnpoint, etc...)

MC-20440?Is the tilde key a dead key (shows up only after the press of a second char like ~n gives ñ) ? What happens if you press ~ and Space ?
Kumasasa is correct. The tilde gotten by pressing Alt+N is an accent key. Use Shift+` to get the correct tilde.
I am unable to enter a tilde on my Mac. Alt+N does not work. and neither does Shift+`. I have tried as many combinations as I could think of and I still cant get ~, I can only get ˜ and Minecraft does not recognize that. The only way I am able to input tildes, is by copying them from elsewhere and pasting in game, but I dont think I should have to do this.
I think it is because my keyboard is spanish. Please reopen this issue.
