Upon trying to play on one of my favorite servers, I was greeted by:

I do not know how to reproduce this, because it should not have happened in the first place.

Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game and attach the crash report (minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt) here.
Is the server using a custom resource pack? It could be malformed on their end.
This ticket is falsely marked as a duplicate of another ticket which is closed as invalid due to use of server mods. However, the issue also occurs on vanilla snapshot servers, even without any resource packs. Please reopen.
@Fenhl, the crash/kick affecting the snapshot server is a different issue. Regardless, this report would either be duplicating the current issue linked, or a different one which has also been reported.
Could you please clarify which issue you are referring to?
MC-82968is the parent report. There are a few variations on the error messages, but they stem from the same issue with the snapshot.
