Memory usage goes crazy.
In version 1.7.4, the memory consumption is "normal" (always stays around 30%) but in snapshot 14w04a, rising to exorbitant figures. Besides the updates chunk up a lot, which gets really bad performance compared. I do not know if I explained well, so I leave 2 below pictures to see the difference =)

Why is 532MB of 1GB exorbitant high ?
there may be exaggerated, it seems to me far worse, sorry
Can confirm in 14w04b.
Memory goes up to 80% of 1GB in my test world.
No clocks, command blocks, just a village nearby.
This also caused me 3 fps if i was afk
I have some issues with Used memory, it`s raise like a hell, again and again. Here video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GO9-0OJaysc i create new world, watch Used memory numbers.
Can confirm. If you open the same world in 1.7.4 and any snapshot after 1.7.4's release (beginning with 14w02b and present in every snapshot afterward tested up to 14w05b), the 1.7.4 world will have more stable amounts of %RAM usage vs the snapshots. For example, in 2 seconds I approximately timed the % RAM on 1.7.4 and 14w02c as follows:
t = 0 s
1.7.4: 23% (~220MB/1GB)
14w02c: 25% (~250MB/1GB)
t = 2 s
1.7.4: 27% (~250MB/1GB)
14w02c: 56% (~580MB/1GB)
At this point 14w02c and all post 1.7.4 snapshots will seemingly clear memory and return to 25% again. This seems to occur with lag spikes in the snapshots, but not in 1.7.4 (it will eventually clear memory but without lag spikes). This problem also gets worse with Render distance increases. It does not go away with the minimum render distance but is slightly alleviated. Tests were done at 16 chunk render distance.
On the only computer that I can run 1.7+ on (due to other bugs), I'm getting such a massive memory leak that my redstone and game mechanics starts to lag out after about 10 minutes. It's so bad that I can't even flick a lever or eat a cake. Then I try close minecraft, it refuses to close, then crashes the whole computer. I have to then wait a few minutes before it will boot again. This is a serious problem, please fix.
Issue still occurs in latest snapshot, 14w10a and b.
This occurs in 14w11b as well.
Can confirm in 14w11b, accompanied by a sizable FPS drop compared to 1.7.5.
The FPS in 14w17a also drops hugely compared to 14w11b, but only when I look directly towards chunk updates. When not looking, it can get up to 30fps but when looking at my redstone, it can sometimes drop to 15fps.
ive been running a server for snapshots since 1.6 and in the 1.8 more so now, ive noticed that my 16GB server running 14w33c Snapshot is maxing out the 16GB with an avg of 20 players .. Once server has restarted the memory is usually around 20% for a while then it just climbing right up reguardless of how many users maybe on
Minecraft servers do NOT need that much RAM, I'd try allotting a maximum of 2-4GB for it.
Ohh i know a Vanilla SHOULDNT need that much, buti started with 4 and it was using ALL of that so i changed it to 8 and again itr was using ALL of that, now i changed it to 16 and its using ALL of that, ive come to the conclusion there is a memory leak somewhere within 1.8 as 16gb Serevr even with say 40 users shouldnt even come close to using or even needing that much RAM .. A modded MC server ok yeah i can accept that, but not a vanilla.
Find it ridiculous that I've had to make my server restart every 30 minutes because it cycles to a complete out of memory crash when the server has 16GB Ram, this should never happen on a 16GB server unless you set off like 20K TNT or something that outrageous...
I saw the Memory % thing going up and not stopping until it hit max then restarts from 0MB. And it does lag every time it hits the max. On the latest snapshots
Is this still an issue in the current Minecraft Snapshot 15w49b or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
Ticket resolved as incomplete, because no answer in a reasonable amount of time (1+ year), if it still happens, please update the ticket.
