Mobs not responsive after player death
Video link demonstrating the problem with Pigmen
What started as the thought that Zombie Pigmen were bugged - appears that all mobs are affected.
1. Mobs you hit before death, cannot be hit after you respawn.
2. "Grudge" mobs like Pigmen will not remain hostile to you after you die.
3. Pigmen will not group-attack you after you die and re-initiate a fight.
Steps to reproduce
- Set your spawn
- Spawn a group of Mobs (Pigmen, Zombie, Skeletons, Cows, etc)
- Hit each one without killing them, then die. (If you choose Pigmen, they will gang up on you)
- Upon player respawn, you can no longer hit the mobs you previous attacked.
- Pigmen become neutral
- Eventually after a delay, and some luck you will be able make contact, but if you'v hit Pigmen, the group will no longer attack you

Zombie Pigman become neutral after death / do not gang up after death
- Spawn a group of Zombie Pigmen
- Attack one, they gang up and kill you
- Upon player respawn, Pigmen become neutral
- Attack one, and the group will not attack you, only possibly one close to the Pigman you assaulted
- Relogging into game seems to restart group anger possibility - or it could unloading and reloading the chunk
- I tested this in the Overworld and in the Nether
- Re entering the Nether will restart their group attack but they won't be hostile when you enter
Unless this is a change I'm not aware of, this must be a bug.

Confirmed for 14w10a
The bug is worse for 14w11b. Now mostly you can't even hit a Pigman after you've died.
Still a major issue with 14w17a
Confirmed for 14w17a
Confirmed for 14w18a. I did another test where after I kill a pigzombie, my hits wouldn't connect to other mobs either.
Still the same annoying problem in 18b. The mobs never gang up on you and can't be hit after the 2nd death.
Still exists in 14w19a
Still a problem in 14w20b. Can't attack pigman after death.
Tried it multiple times couldn't replicate it.
Did you try it in a 14w20b?
Yeah I tried it out and it works for me. Sorry it hasn't been fixed yet!
So when you hit a group of pigmen they remember to be angry at you? After you die?
This also is the deal for iron golems.
Well this problem is much worse than I'd thought. I tested the mob response of Skeletons, Zombies, Cows, Blazes, and Silverfish and got the same result. You can't make contact with mobs you previously hit after respawn. Silverfish seemed to work properly after 2 deaths, but the others are more glitched.
Excellent!
I can confirm it's back in 14w28b. Hit two wolves, died, respawned right next to them and couldn't hit them anymore. Can anybody else confirm?
No this still seems fixed.
