MC-543Cannot Break Glowstone and Glass after switching gamemode on server
I run a server on the same machine I play on and connect using localhost on Mulitplayer. I was playing Survival and used "/gamemode 1" command to switch the gamemode from survival to creative. I then grabbed a couple stacks of glowstone and put them in my survival inventory. Next, I switched the gamemode back to Survival. Once in survival, I cannot break glass or glowstone with my hands or any tools. When I click to dig the tool doesn't actually "hit" the block. It is like it is just hitting an air block. I CAN, however, break dirt and stone blocks with my shovel and pickaxe. I am currently stuck in this state. I have tried restarting my computer and both servers. It is still not working correctly.

I also cannot break torches unless I break the block underneath. Hitting them does nothing.
Sounds like you are in adventure mode instead of survival mode.
I guess you accidently entered
/gamemode 2
instead of
/gamemode 0
Try
/gamemode s
or
/gamemode survival
which is easier to remember

Can't reproduce, am able to place and break glowstone in new 1.4.2 world in survival mode.
