Pressing the crouch key while flying puts the player in the crouching position
If you press the crouch key while flying, the player's body will bend down slightly, as if they were crouching.

Works as intended. I don't think it detects that you are in Creative mode.
It doesn't detect you are in creative mode, and that is the bug. It shouldn't put you in the crouching position, as you aren't really crouching, you just use the same key to fly downwards.
It's a visual representation of a player descending in creative mode, so in my opinion: Works as intended.
Why? It's not needed, it's obvious that the player is descending. It also causes your view to shift downwards, which is really annoying when doing precision work.
Is this still an issue in the most recent versions (currently that is 1.10.2, or 16w42a) of Minecraft? If so, please update the affected versions and help us keeping this ticket updated from time to time.
