Server generating villages despite generate-structures=false in server.properties
So i am working on this project. And had used a flat world setting to generate air only worlds. It worked like a charm. But then i noticed villages spawning ontop of the void. So i turned off structure generation in the server config. Hoping it would fix it. But they still appear.
Steps:
1: create a minecraft server wich is flat. And air only
2: turn off generate structures in the config. And start server
3: walk/ teleport around to see them still spawn
Environment
64x bit java server. Windows 8.1

Reopened per jeb's comments on MC-92036.
Do they appear in newly generated chunks as well?
Yes they do.
I even notice giving it a flat world code without village in it still spawns them
In my opinion this bug should be fixed by changing level.dat into something that can be read and edited by human eyes. What happens here is actually that the server will prioritize the level settings (in level.dat) over the server properties. I feel that the server properties shouldn't control level settings in that way, so it's a structural problem.
My suggestion to you, if you still have this problem, is to edit your level.dat with a NBT editor and change the setting there.
So... status: to be determined
Okay. Ill try that as soon as possible. But still. In my opinions. Void isnt valid ground in the first place :x
Aha, I didn't read the description properly. You should've posted two different bug reports instead of describing two bugs in one report
Oh now i see what you mean. But indeed i accidentally posted two bugs. Sorry :x. You still want me to try and change the nbt inside the world.dat? :o
@[Mojang] Jeb (Jens Bergensten): Villages in void/empty maps is MC-87522... which I mistakenly marked WAI. Reopening now.
What was the seed?
Ill post it later today. Through it happens with any kind of seed :x
