MCD-1373Crash on game start (level load)
Repro: start game, get to Hero selection screen, press either "Online Game" or "Offline Game" play button. Game level load screen for Squid Coast shows up. The left bottom loading block shows and then the game crashes to desktop, with a message saying you want feedback on the bug. Has happened three times in a row, no other information available to us.
The game is unplayable.

Happens to me a lot too. Even when I eventually get in the game, it will just randomly crash during a level.
Try the following method:
Open game to the Main Menu > Disable Wi-Fi > Start an offline game > Make progress (Finish Creeper woods
When at camp: Pause > return to Main Menu > Enable wifi
You should be able to play the game normally from now on.
I got to the main menu, disabled wireless, started an offline game. Same result – crash to desktop during the level load process. I am not able to get the level to load successfully, and so cannot make progress.

Did you use Cheat Engine by any chance? (Sorry for the very late reply)
I don't know what Cheat Engine is, but my guess is probably not since I've no idea what it is.
Have you tried reinstalling the game at all?
Do you know your system specifications?
I unintalled/reinstalled after your first comment on the 11th, but it didn't seem to make any difference. Will give it another go.
edit: and in fact that seems to have solved the problem.
Further edit: this allows me to play single-player without an issue. Any multiplayer scenario continues to crash to desktop. This happens whether or not I am hosting the game.
Please leave open. This is not resolved and the game remains unplayable.
Sys specs: Intel i7-4790 @ 4 GHz, 8 Gb RAM, Win 10, GeForce GTX 970 video
Can add dxdiag dump if that would help diagnose.

Is this still an issue in the latest version? If yes, then what is the repro rate (how many times did it happen over the course of how many playthroughs)?
