Launcher fails to start when install folder is on OneDrive
Last time the report was invalid since it was troubleshoot. I reported it to Mojang support on twitter and they said it was a bug and to report it here. The problem is still the same, so i request that you don't make it invalid since others are reporting the problem. The launcher launches but nothing shows up. Nothing is on the task bar as well. I have seen it on here with no solution

Launcher bugLauncher fails to start when install folder is on OneDrive
Shift+right click the icon on your taskbar and click 'maximise'
I resolved your previous ticket because it sounded as if the launcher started, but the game did not. I was not aware that you were talking about the launcher, not the game itself.
Please explain what your issue is. To be more precise, please tell us:
•I use windows 10
•I do not use multiple monitors
•No minecraft does not show up in the task bar
Where did you download the launcher? After you downloaded it and opened it, did something show up? Did it never work or did it previously work, but stopped working recently?
I downloaded the launcher from minecraft.net. when I opened it it opened like it should with the play button and the news page. It recently stopped working after I left somewhere and shut off my computer
Please attach launcher_log.txt from your .minecraft folder. https://help.mojang.com/customer/portal/articles/1480874-where-are-minecraft-files-stored-
I have attached the log
Thank you - some interesting follow-up questions from information in that log:
The launcher directory is in OneDrive. That issue is probably caused by OneDrive attempting to overwrite files while the launcher tries to update, at least that would be my best guess.
Ok thank you I'll wait for the mojang moderator to respond back. Can you not close the ticket so I can hear back from the mojang moderator. Also can you provide me info on how to fix the overwrite issue
So I attempted to change the game directory to the .minecraft folder but it did not fix and it doesn't appear to be going to OneDrive
Like I said I attempted to change it but it didnt work. Can you help me please
Hello I have noticed a lack of response but I thought you should no that the launcher no longer works and I have re downloaded it twice and it did not work. I have also restarted my computer but that didn't work either. Please help
This is not a support forum, but a bug tracker. You have filed a bug report. [Mojang] slicedlime or another developer will take a look at it at some point. As it's currently the weekend, you can't expect a reply until Monday. Please be patient.
If you continue to have issues, you can try to opt out of the launcher beta by following the steps in this ticket:
MCL-11001.It appears that you are running the Minecraft Launcher from the Curse/Twitch launcher - is that correct? If so, you'll most likely need to change the folder in there.
I am currently using the standard minecraft launcher with the beta version if it
That is odd. It seems to be installed by Curse.
I'd suggest you uninstall the Launcher and Re-install it in another location that is not under OneDrive.
What folder do you suggest I install it in
Hi there!
Please attach the video/screenshots of the issue.
1. Have you checked if the Launcher process appears at the task manager and then force quit it?
2. Could you try to reinstall the Launcher at the internal PC drive? After deleting it, find .minecraft and delete the file - what is important that this file should be deleted from the trash bin, because corrupted files from the old .minecraft file may interract with the newly generated .minecraft file.
This ticket will automatically reopen when you reply.
