MCL-18710copmplains about Java Runtime version
the launcher complains "Your Java Runtime is incompatible" for minecraft version 1.14.4 and JRE 1.11.
JRE 1.11 did work correctly with minecraft versions 1.6 to 1.16.5, and there is no reason to complain about incompatible version and/or download/install older JRE version.

I have similar problem with older versions of MC and different java version than bundled 1.8, reported as MCL-18710:
the installed java version (1.11) is marked as incompatible with versions 1.7-1.16, while they all were playable with java 1.11.
Edit: removing JavaCheck.jar helped me too.
Minecraft 1.17 and above requires Java 16.
