The issue is that Java 7 is bugged on the mac, so you must launch with Java 6
Hey smartypants Alex, READ THE WHOLE REPORT! And you will see it is in Java 6 environment!!! And it is fixed by mojang, just redownload now!
Redownload the dmg.
it is not fixed, I ran as java 6 with a terminal command, and retried downloading the DMG, as well as deleting the minecraft folder. Does not work. client gets stuck at:

Dinnerbone, I sent you a message on twitter, please respond to it
resolved o.O fixed
its not fixed, the launcher launches the jar, then gets stuck at the mojang logo with the above text in the launcher console
I'm sorry but thats your problem! If you would read Dinnerbone commented here to redownload the dmg. o.O facepalm
how stupid do you think I am, I am a developer, I know what I am doing. I DID redownload the launcher, but it still refuses to launch
I am sorry, but its called programmer, and so am I! To be polite, please create a new issue with your problem, I hope it will get fixed! I don't think mojang will read our comments, so create a new issue and hope it will get fixed!
This should be fixed properly already, redownload and it should be signed.
I forgot it signed the payload as well and after fixing a last minute bug I failed to resign the resources.
Fixed in the buildscript now
Forward resolving to reopened
MCL-178Why is this a duplicate?
Because
MCL-178was marked fixed.But
(Look up in comments)
MCL-178has nothing to do with this (And its invalid as I see)... Even Dinnerbone commented here it was fixedThat was a typo. I meant
MCL-174(link is correct, but comment was wrong...)
