Ok, attached a file with the FULL console output, some words are in German though. Password, etc. replaced with XXX.
Confirmed for Windows 7, 64-bit, with JRE 7 64-bit. I even tried deleting versions, natives, the launcher, and eventually deleted .minecraft altogether and let it reinstall. No version of the game will launch anymore on the new launcher.
I'll attach my console output (English version) too.
Not working either with Java 7 on XP Pro 32 Bit Install. Deleting contents of .minecraft folder doesn't help. Console output attached.

Like Paul, I also have Windows XP 32-bit OS, and I've tried everything stated for bug fixes above (except deleting .minecraft all together).
I have noticed people on the minecraft help IRC channel having the same problem.

Seems to be a major problem with the launcher, happens on Win XP, Win7, with Java 6 or 7 and every Minecraft version, ...

The launcher had one job: Launching the game. It failed. Do it better next time :-P

Still can't change the Minecraft directory. Same problem. Default directoy works fine though.
