Breaking the boat with chest separates the boat and the chest
When you break the boat with chest, the boat and the chest gets separated, which is not in parity with Java.
How to Reproduce
1. Place a boat with chest.
2. Break it in survival mode.
Observed Result
The boat with chest gets separated to boat and chest.
Expected Result
The boat with chest should remain after breaking it.

This is how chest minecarts work, so I expect it’s intended.
Per the java report, it is not intended.
Worth noting that in java, minecarts now also keep the block inside when broken.
So, my question is, since this is apparently now WAI, how are we meant to separate chests from boats/minecarts now? Putting it in a crafting grid?
