All mushrooms in my mushroom farm are not spawning new ones. I have played for several hours at a time, but mushrooms still do not spawn.

Confirmed, i have an iPod Touch 5g and it never grow!, i place a mushroom on the dark, and i was playing last month and never grow
Are you staying in the same chunk?
The mushrooms will not grow regardless of whether you are in the chunk or not.
it works it just takes a long time
A really long time in some cases.

Since 0.7.0 mushroom farming is working perfectly, fixed
(Can only set 0.7.4 as earliest "fixed version")
