Freezing and Crashing on front screen
Many times when I open the app it will show the Mojang logo for a few seconds and then crash and need to be reopened, usually doing the same. Other times I get past than but once I click Start Game my world selection appears and then the game freezes and needs to be reopened.

Imho MCPE-208 is not even related with this ticket. It mentions different devices and describes a completely different behavior. This is specifically about the RAZR I with JB installed and always crashing exactly after world selection or creation. It also did not effect 4.0 on the RAZR I or older versions of MCPE on the RAZR I. I suffer exactly the same crashes on my RAZR I and could also reproduce the other details the ticket creator mentioned in his description of that bug.
Both issues are talking that cant play because the game closes, no matter which device is affected, the problem is the issue that is affecting some devices. Check this on MCPE-208:
" ...but once I click Start Game my world selection appears and then the game freezes and needs to be reopened."
What you said was:
"...with JB installed and always crashing exactly after world selection or creation."
Indeed, its a duplicate of MCPE-208, just comment on that report that is affecting that devices too, no need to create the same report with a different device.
MCPE-208 describes problems on "Device: iOS - iPod Touch" and mentions iPhones / iPads -> Android devices are not even mentioned in MCPE-208.
By the way the RAZR I might even differ from other android devices because of the x86 processor and the compatibility environment it starts some applications in. So the specific information about the affected device might be relevant.
MCPE-208 describes "show the Mojang logo for a few seconds and then crash" this absolutely never happens on the RAZR I.
MCPE-208 describes "once I click Start Game my world selection appears and then the game freezes" this also never happens on the RAZR I.
On the RAZR I the game crashes and not freezes. Specifically the game crashes while loading / creating a world and not freezes while in the world selection screen.
My reason for not seeing this ticket as a duplicate is not only because it is related to an other mobile platform but the completely different behaviour and location of the crashing. Additionally I would say "freezing" means not the same as "crashing" in this case.
Duplicate of MCPE-208 no matter which device is, both issues are talking the same. it is obiously that the description wont be %100 exactly, but every person describe the bug as they like, both issues match together.
I have this same problem on my devices (iPhones 4 and 5). Turning off Wifi stops the crashes. Devs fix please!
This happened to me too.
same on my ipad 4
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
Yeah, still affecting 0.8.1
If this bug still affects the current version of Minecraft PE, please update the "Affected Version/s" option to reflect this.
I think this is fixed in the newest version of mcpe or can someone reproduce this?
It appears to be fixed in 0.10.5 - Using a Samsung Galaxy Nexus - GT-I9250, Android version 4.2.1
