World crashes when entering certain coordinates
Apologies if a similar bug is reported elsewhere - I did not find it when searching.
This is a world that my daughter originally created in XBOX 360 Minecraft, then migrated to XB1 Minecraft, and finally into Minecraft Bedrock-edition. It's been around for about 3-4 years as she's worked on it.
There are two separate (but possibly related) issues occurring.
When moving around the world, the game crashes when you enter certain coordinates. I've managed to locate at least two sets where it crashes
- -31, 29, -52
- -87, 69, 78
I've attached the .mcworld file
There's a second issue where the game appears to be unable to identify a block. The game displays the block name as tile.info_update.name. The block looks like an unskinned dirt block and looks the same regardless of any texture pack used in the game. I've attached a screenshot of this issue (ChromaHills texture pack is in use, but block is being displayed without texture pack applied - probably because it can't identify the block.
Thank you for your help

Have you tried reconverting the world from the console edition of Minecraft? There may have been a conversion error that has since been fixed.
I have not, We converted the world from Minecraft for XB1 to Bedrock-Edition very shortly after Bedrock edition was released with Better-Together (which was almost a year ago), so a lot of work has been done in the world between then and now.
The world appears to be damaged! Try what Dr. Awesome said above, as it could have been a conversion error that may have been fixed since then
As I said - I was hoping to avoid re-converting the world as it existed at the time Better Together was released, as this will result in a lot of lost work (about a years worth). If that is the only suggestion or support that can be offered, then that's what I'll have to do.
I've been able to "fix" (or at least load) the world (in those areas) using a 3rd party editor. Although it might have some things missing. The crash is still being investigated. This "fix" is not officially supported nor can we support the use of 3rd party tools. TV Starzz's Realm - KillerbeeNL edit.mcworld
Wow! I think you may have fixed it enough that it's workable. The funky blocks are still there, but the crashes don't seem to be occurring like they were.
I really can't thank you enough - my daughter has put a ton of work in on this. May I ask what editor you used so that I can try using that in case the issue happens again?
So (I don’t work here) but the dirt block that has “upd ate” and “ate upd” is a block that replaces blocks the system does not have a texture for. If you have played the Java edition, it is similar to the purple and black block. Either the block you want was removed or something happened to it’s texture.
Do you know what blocks are missing their textures?
No - there was apparently only one block missing the texture. At least - I hadn't discovered any others that looked out of place.
The update block also happens when the game cannot identify a block. It replaces the block with the update block, it is not likely missing textures in this case.
