MCPE-57197Coral fans/plants die much faster when a block next to it changes
The bug
When a block next to a coral plant or fan changes, it dies very soon after. If no block was changed, it survives for a few more seconds. Does not affect coral blocks.
How to reproduce
- Place a coral plant and watch how long it takes for it to die
- Place another coral plant and then place any block next to it (this one dies way faster)

The bug
Unlike regular coral which survive for a few seconds, coral fans die instantly when placed outside of water. If they are in water and the water is removed, they die very quickly, much faster than regular coral.
How to reproduce
- Place a coral plant and a coral fan (away from each other because of MCPE-57197)
- Watch the coral plant survive briefly, but the coral fan die instantly
The bug
Corals are intended to schedule a random amount of ticks to die in. This works correctly for coral blocks. However, fans/plants wrongly use random block ticks instead. This means when random tick speed is zero, only coral blocks will die.
How to reproduce
- /gamerule randomTickSpeed 0
- Place a coral block and a coral plant (away from each other because of MCPE-57197)
- Watch as only the block dies
