The face for the character creator default for Steve does not match the real Steve skin used outside of the character creator. I suspect there is some kind of coloring filter going subtly wrong.

This is intentional, as when the old Steve before this one was still present in-game it didn't match the new textures due to the messiness, and so a small group of people including me did some different things to ask for an updated Steve and all of a sudden we got this an update later!
If you're wondering why not much is changed is cause they were still iconic textures so all they could change/clean up was the skin, hair, and a tiny bit of details on the clothes. The same thing can be seen with Alex on the character creator. Only thing weird about all of this is Java Edition has not recieved this at all and still has the old characters.
