Some colors on the textures of both the new Steve & Alex are incorrect and look sorta out of place.
As you can see on this one when Steve was updated the color on the bottom of his torso was fixed. However this was not done with Alex, and
stays the same.
Alongside that the bottom of Alex's shoes aren't a dark gray like they're supposed to be.
A similar problem can be seen when Steve isn't wearing any shoes. It just stays a dark gray.

In a recent update for some reason the bottom of Steve’s torso was unfixed and this time has extra detail?? Hope this gets fixed considering it already was before this texture change.

The Steve/player head uses the old Steve texture rather than the new one introduced in 1.13.0, which of course looks out place compared to the new one, especially since the whole reason the new texture was made is cause
it didn't match the new textures.

(Note that this doesn't only effect JE but also BE and Earth)
Before the texture update all the necks in-game were pure black, and kinda made for a sorta "boxhead" look if you will, but when the texture update came around that was changed to look more natural, with just a very dark color for the neck. This was done for

Can some mod please re-open this? Nobody commented that they don't want this be fixed, so deeming it invalid just seems like a lazy resolution. I even tried posting on the feedback site and the post was declined 2 times.
Fire uses an inconsistent and outdated and noisy texture when compared to its campfire variants. The same thing can also be seen when comparing water to water bottles and lava to lava buckets.
---------------------
How to reproduce:
1. Get a campfire, soul campfire, flint and steel, soul soil, netherrack, lava bucket, water bucket, and water bottle from your inventory.
2. Dig 2 holes and place netherrack in one and soul soil in the other, then using flint and steel light both the netherrack and soul soil on fire, then place their campfire variants next to each-other.
3. Dig 2 holes again, this time putting water in one and lava in the other, then hold a lava bucket and water bottle in your hands.

Hello Ionic
Sorry that was confusing, as I misremembered Playstation having Beta because they always said "consoles included". Turns out not for playstation.
I also added the images as you requested to make it for clear with how it doesn't match. Thanks for your time!
I'm pretty sure that this problem should be solved with "works as intended", as it's most likely intentional for the zombie to not match every exact pixel of Steve. This would make sense considering just like in real life something like for example a shirt can be the exact same though it won't have the same crumpling or shadowing and it's a zombified human, so like the zombie villager it won't match every single pixel. They both match the new textures, just not every pixel matches. And yes, some pixels do exactly match Steve which would prove it's intentional.
If you're problem is that Steve looks really "messy" compared to the smooth textures of the zombie then that has been solved in Bedrock Edition 1.13.0, where new textures for both Steve and Alex were introduced that were cleaned up and fixes the problem of the "messiness". This also once again proves it's intentional since they had a choice to update every pixel to match but didn't.
@Unftitties McCalliefüker I can see where that would've sounded like that and be confusing, so I updated my comment to better word the post.
Hello @[Mod] violine1101 !
I believe there has been a mistake, as this is not intended as a feature request.
The bug report above states how a line of pixels are accidently missing from the shoe of the zombie, which matches every single pixel on the villagers shoe except that line.
I've made a post very similar to this but with another mob you can find here, however rather than being invalid it was resolved and fixed. If the zombies shoes are intended to be this way how come this is invalid as a feature request and not resolved as works as intended?
Either which way, post can be invalid or not, thank you for reading and I hope you have a good day.
I added parity issue to the title. Thanks for the recommendation!
@agentpaint
Java's is not updated. The reason it has a metal tip is because it was supposed to match 1.14's old diamond & gold pickaxe textures where the tips resembled sticks rather than the old pickaxe. That is being changed in 1.16 to better match the other pickaxes and around that time is when the netherite pickaxe for bedrock edition was updated to match the other pickaxes, so I doubt that the non matching pickaxe is supposed to be the "updated" better one. You can actually find the bug post I'm talking about here.
@Kuba435 When the old textures were still the original textures & old Steve & Alex matched the world they were great. But now that we got a texture update and the old Steve & Alex look out of place compared to the world we finally got an updated Steve & Alex to match, so there'd be no reason to hold it back for one of the main editions of the game when all other versions of it are updated.
@Mish Rodic This isn't a feature request, it's an actual problem. That's why it's still open and "Parity" is in the title as it's a thing mods use to know if it's an issue with parity or not. This site is specifically made and used for solving bugs and problems with the game.
@agentpaint I didn't even think about doing that, thank you for spending the time to check that! It actually catches me by surprise that the mistake that ended up looking like it could be intended to match isn't.
This is intentional, as when the old Steve before this one was still present in-game it didn't match the new textures due to the messiness, and so a small group of people including me did some different things to ask for an updated Steve and all of a sudden we got this an update later!
If you're wondering why not much is changed is cause they were still iconic textures so all they could change/clean up was the skin, hair, and a tiny bit of details on the clothes. The same thing can be seen with Alex on the character creator. Only thing weird about all of this is Java Edition has not recieved this at all and still has the old characters.
Good to know! Thank you @[Helper] LateLag
Hoping this gets fixed eventually, really looks out of place considering the back of humanoids in Minecraft are usually a slightly darker shade than the front.
This works as intended. It's just an artistic design choice by Jappa to show intentional "lore" in-game. There's even a room in the Woodland mansion filled with wool that's the same color as Steve's clothing, and considering zombies die easily it would make sense for wool to be the main material as it's easy to get and quick to make.
Texture inconsistencies are considered bugs, most of the texture fixes come from here. I just hope this gets fixed since it's really strange
The Oak sign's text isn't faded, it's just "texture updated". The other signs should've been updated, but they aren't which is a weird problem, and makes an inconsistent look.
@Garfieldwxg55 I doubt it's purposeful, since even some small textures such as the saddle in the horse gui was fixed and updated to match the new textures after somebody reported it. Also Netherite is the shiniest thing in the game and's drawn by Jappa, and while Silverfish look silver I doubt they'd be more shiny, thus needing so many colors for each and every pixel.
@Avoma This isn't a feature request, there's like multiple posts just like mine with the same labels I have that've either been fixed or waiting to be fixed, showing this is indeed the place to post this.
Can confirm for 20w46a
@GlitchDestroyer There's a problem with Bedrock Steve not matching Java, though that still coincides with the actual bug here which is that head itself isn't updated. It's a big problem since it doesn't give a confirmation on what Steve & Alex are supposed to truly look like, and compared to other video game characters, there's none that's treated like this.
@Crackers0106 I'm aware they're different cause that reason, but that doesn't make them not different, they're very different. When you look at the actual pixels and changes you can see that they intentionally made it so they match the new textures and don't look outdated.
Also the clothes have changes to better suit the new textures, Alex lost the shadow under her hair on her back texture, Steve's sleeves were mirrored on both sides, the darker shades of colors on Steve's pants were changed to a more accurate color, and the legs of Steve were mirrored.
The only reason the clothes are mostly the same is because they still fit in with the new textures, and they didn't want to give Steve zombie clothes, which while fully updated and drawn by Jappa is intended to have a difference so it's obvious that the zombies clothes were freshly sewn with wool by Illagers in the woodland mansion, hence a room filled with wool colored like Steve's clothes.
@Mateus Pereira Milbradt I've made a texture pack that fixes all issues/inconsistencies in Minecraft's default look and feel. It's constantly being worked on to have better, new, and consistent textures, and the latest version (1.6) should be released soon.
Truly Default
@Blanket Duck Maybe to the naked eye on what quality monitor? It's pretty blatantly obvious to anyone with a quality screen.. lol
In 20w49a
Hey everyone! Knowing how there's just so many inconsistencies and outdated textures in the Texture Update, I decided to make Minecraft's true default look and feel with a texture pack that fixes multiple issues including the ones listed above. It's currently only for Java, though eventually and especially if requested will get a Bedrock release. Enjoy! Truly Default
@Little X While that is true, the head should still be fixed nonetheless. Best way I can think of doing this is just giving the player head its own texture based off the character creator's updated Steve.
How did this become not fixed when I don't even have an assignee on this report? I can only hope that someday when enough texture fixes are added, bugs like these will get reopened. Or maybe these will get fixed in-game and make the report being closed entirely obsolete.
While you might think they don't need to match, they do. It's a simple 4 pixel line that can be added in 3 seconds top. And leaving it like this in the game for decades would just be weird.
@Conner Steppi It's invalid in that sense. And honestly this is very valid, especially as more and more texture fixes get added every new update. Out of everything that should be updated and fixed, the main characters should be first on the list, so hopefully bugs like this will get reopened someday.
@Ledropha Miami This is somewhat of a parity issue knowing that Bedrock Edition’s Steve & Alex should’ve been added to Java a long time ago. However I’m talking about Bedrock Edition period. The default player head is meant to resemble Steve, and was added before Character Creator’s updated Steve. Because of this it hasn’t been updated yet, and is inconsistent with the default textures.
Can confirm for 1.18
Can confirm for 1.18
Sigh, can confirm for 1.18.1
@Dhranios This is in no way intentional. If Jappa himself knew this existed you can bet he’d fix it, my post just happened to get the classic “Fix bugs by calling them a feature” treatment.
