MCPE-88342Can’t update to 1.16.1 on iPadOS or iOS
When I go to the App Store. It doesn’t show the new 1.16.1 update. I also tried reinstalling (offloading) the app but that didn’t work. (It worked when 1.16 wouldn’t show in the App Store.) How am I supposed to play the new update now? Also, Mojang Studios now releases bedrock updates on all platforms at once, proving that this is a bug.
What I expected
When I go to the App Store, I should be able to update Minecraft to 1.16.1.
Instead
It just says “open”
Steps to reproduce:
- Go to the App Store on an iPad or iPhone.
- Search “minecraft” or “Minecraft”
- Click “Minecraft”
- Notice you can’t update to 1.16.1.

1.16.1, if you read the patch notes, is only available for Windows 10 PC currently, all other versions will come out most likely when 1.16.20.50 beta is released as update 1.16.2.
Per the previous commenter, the update will roll out slowly and is not yet available on iOS.
I have the same problem and also it says it is a duplicate of... CHARECTER 2 NOT LOADING! I guess they won’t let ios players update :c
