Having a repeating command block set the game difficulty, causes extreme entity lag (Nintendo Switch)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
How to Reproduce
1. /give yourself a command block
2. Place the command block down and make it a repeating command block with either a redstone source block or have it set to 'always active'
3. Set a game difficulty within the command block
What Happened
- Everything that is considered an 'entity' has EXTREME lag.
- Hitting an entity will make the entity get pushed back as normal but it
will take a long time as the entity floats up and back down with lots of
choppiness - Throwing down items will take forever as when you throw an item
down. It doesn't go to the ground right away. It will sort of bounce and
judder up and down until finally it hits the ground - Picking up items from the ground will take about 3 - 5 seconds
- And much more...
What I Expected to Happen
I expected everything mentioned above to not happen...

Bug Prevention Tip
To all switch players who encounter this on a map or something try to locate where the maps command blocks are and disable the repeating command block that sets a difficulty. But you might not be able to or you won't be able to go into creative because the map won't allow you too which is why this is a CRITICAL ISSUE

Having a repeating command block set the game difficulty, causes extreme entity lag
Hello,
Recently I was trying to play a map called Crazy Chunk Survival on the Nintendo Switch I started in 1.14.6, but wanted to start over in 1.16. But, when trying to play I was getting extreme entity lag from mobs and from tile drops. I poked around with the maps commands and found that when having a repeating command block set a difficulty it causes this lag to occur. I tried having a command block set the difficulty repeat on one of my worlds and sure enough this caused the mentioned lag. This bug could be really dangerous for marketplace maps that do this. I've tested this on other platforms but this only happens on the Nintendo Switch

- Everything that is considered an 'entity' has EXTREME lag. Hitting an entity will make the
entity get pushed back really slowly- Throwing down items will take forever as when you throw an item down. It doesn't go to
the ground right away. It will sort of bounce and jutter up and down until finally it hits the
ground- Picking up items from the ground will take about 3 - 5 seconds

Little Backstory
Recently I was trying to play a map called Crazy Chunk Survival on the Nintendo Switch I started in 1.14.6, but wanted to start over in 1.16. But, when trying to play I was getting extreme entity lag from mobs and from tile drops. I poked around with the maps commands and found that when having a repeating command block set a difficulty it causes this lag to occur. I tried having a command block set the difficulty repeat on one of my worlds and sure enough this caused the mentioned lag.
This bug is VERY problematic for marketplace maps that do this. I've tested this on other platforms but this only happens on the Nintendo Switch.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To all switch players who encounter this on a map or something try to locate where the maps command blocks are and disable the repeating command block that sets a difficulty. But you might not be able to or you won't be able to go into creative because the map won't allow you too which is why this is a CRITICAL ISSUE

How to Reproduce
1. /give yourself a command block
2. Place the command block down and make it a repeating command block with either a redstone source block or have it set to 'always active'
3. Set a game difficulty within the command blockWhat Happened
- Everything that is considered an 'entity' has EXTREME lag. Hitting an entity will make the
entity get pushed back really slowly- Throwing down items will take forever as when you throw an item
down. It doesn't go to
the ground right away. It will sort of bounce andjutter up and down until finally it hits the
ground- Picking up items from the ground will take about 3 - 5 seconds
- And much moor!

1 how come the video is full screen and 2 why is the video like 1 minute long i can only upload videos that are like 3 seconds long it says that the limit for files is 10 mb
I used a video compression software that made the video be under 10mb
Also I use a capture card to record my switch

MCPE-89701.I tried on Windows 10 and it didn't happen to me when I tried a repeating command block...
@Spongecake89
I mean, this issue can reproduce in different ways like I described. My one experience is very similar to this issue, but in Survival Mode, so I wrote a affecting platform which is I playing on.If this bug has different causes, you can create your own report based off your experience with mob lag.
Thats because doing that repeats a process over and over, slowing other processes. This is not a bug, just a computer flaw.
It doesn't happen on any other platform even if it's a switch "limitation" it is still possible to fix this
Possibly related to
MCPE-124058I doubt this issue is related to your issue. It doesn't happen on Windows 10 or any other console and has been an issue on the Nintendo switch for about 10 months now...
I said it's possibly related, since both reports mention similar behavior. A possibility is that it's the same significant lag caused by two separate issues, which is why I said it's possibly related.
