I lag a lot whenever i try to send a chat comment, this gets annoying sometimes because it lags for a maximum of 5 minutes every time i try to type. Im not sure if its just my internet since it doesnt happen to my friend on his pc, but someone i was playing with stated that they are having the same problem.

Happens with my switch too!
Confirmed for 1.16.20 as well as 1.16.21
i didnt like 1.16.20, i couldnt even play in 1.16.20 lmao, but thats fixed.
this is a console only problem, because my friend who uses her phone to type doesnt have this issue, also my friend on his pc said he isn't experiencing it when he types. I figured out that it lags because you type on a separate screen, whereas for pc, you type on the same screen.
U dont need to know: You're jumping to conclusions. Just because you know of some consoles the lag happens on and some phone it doesn't happen on, doesn't imply that it happens on all consoles or that it doesn't happen on any phones. Likewise, it may be a Switch-only problem, in which case it will only happen on consoles where you type on a separate screen, but that doesn't imply that typing on the screen is what causes the bug. It could instead have something to do with being connected to Nintendo's network service, for example. You're welcome to speculate about such things, but try not to make it sound like you know the solution for a fact, because someday somebody could take what you say to heart and lose their world when it turns out you were wrong.
Also, please remember that the bug tracker is not a forum for discussing bugs with one another, it is for reporting them to the developers. Comments are meant for passing additional information to the devs, and we'd prefer that you not use them to talk to each other unnecessarily, although we try not to get fussy about it as long as it doesn't get out of hand. The goal is to keep the information the devs need prominent so it doesn't get buried under the chatter.
I’m having this issue as well. I think it happens in multiplayer when you use commands, whether you use a block or the chat.
@Auldrick: not a lot of people believe me anyway, Also how and why would someone lose their world to a 5 minute mini-crash thats really only on multiplayer servers when more than one people are on that server? (Also my latest comment was actually a theory. Theory meaning: a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained.)
