The image that was taken during the day only has 1 water source block, which is directly above my head. All the flowing water (incl. under it) is breathable!

Able to breathingunder flowing water
This is an issue in 1.10.2, on PC.
I just wanted to confirm that I'm having the issue on PC. The environment is marked as Mac.
Funny how the bug is 3 years old. Probably because it's not game-breaking.
I can't believe this hasn't been corrected yet. It has been this way for as long as I can remember.
Added a Campfire smoke image. Affects 1.14 Release.
