I do agree with you 100% even if it came off a little harsh, when it comes to a Game breaking bug like this one and others its not really dealt with or fixed by the Minecraft developers, mostly little bugs that are bearly noticed or reported, but something as bad as this is just unacceptable, I’m not giving any criticism whatsoever to Mojang but just the honest opinion from myself. This is unacceptable as this point with everything you (@Alexander D) has mentioned, it better be fixed because with this many people having this exact issue its safe to say that every Switch player is having the same issue, nothing on the players end at this point, no difference with render distance/graphics etc. a simple hotfix to fix all these problems is needed but atm it all depends on the Minecraft team caring for the Nintendo Switch community. Not sure how it came through certification either....
For anyone here thinking that its Maps in item frames causing the performance issues well its not, Ive tested it multiple times with and without maps in item frames and the performance is still very very bad including the fps. Once again this is nothing on the Players end at this point and requires a Hotfix asap because its unplayable at this point, these problems won’t be dropped by saying “its a problem with your settings or maps in item frames in your world” its a All around problem for Switch Players, now its up to the Developers wether they’ll fix it or leave it like this which is something I strongly decline.
@Aukdrick I just wanted to know if it's actually fixed in 1.10 because it's getting out of hand to be completely honest.

I downloaded the 1.9.0 Update yesterday on my Nintendo Switch and once i entered my World i got multiple issues with Performance and framerate, Frames went down to an unlocked 30fps, World took over 2 minutes to load up and UI crafting/inventory menu cursor stuttering while moving it around, also whenever i press Pause the game freezes and soon after crashes the game, it seems that after every Update the Performance gets slower and worse for Nintendo Switch, if I’m wrong then its an issue within this particular Update. The video i left below may not look like the framerate is below 30fps but it’s worse in-game. Please fix this ASAP because its become unplayable at this point.
UPDATE: Version 1.10.0 has no fix included and has gotten slower by the added features stuffed into the game.

Sorry made a mistake: Framerate isn't an issue anymore, it's the stuttering when the game freezes

These performance issues were found to have two different causes. The first and more severe bug affected all Switch players. It was fixed in 1.10.0 and performance was greatly improved.
The second bug mainly affects games where the Multiplayer Game setting is enabled. Its most prominent symptoms seem to be pauses of several seconds when the game is autosaving, but there can also be brief delays at any time. During these times, delays may be observed when breaking blocks, opening chests, anvils, and other UI panels, and perhaps some other actions. This bug is difficult to fix so it will take a bit longer, but a team of developers is and has been working diligently on it.
Workaround: If you have worlds that you don't intend to play with others in multiplayer mode, you should see a performance improvement by disabling the Multiplayer Game setting for them. (This setting is enabled by default and normally doesn't cause a problem for single players, so you might not realize that it's enabled and can be turned off.) Unfortunately, there is currently no known workaround for worlds you want to play in multiplayer mode.
Just wanna add the freeze bug is in the base game all together, even with multiplayer aswell (that's obvious but it happens anywhere in the game itself.
I was going to try that but in April there was bug where Minecraft stopped supporting Switch cloud save but Helen said it was a bug, so I'm not sure if that got fixed so I can restore my data after deleting it.
Replace the workaround I meant sorry, the other info above can stay there ^
@Auldrick if this small guide could maybe replace your Workaround on the issue on the discription of the bug report:
1. Backup your game data to the cloud using Switch online service
2. Delete save data for the game in data management settings and uninstall the game from your console entirely (don't worry your worlds will be saved)
3. Redownload the game from Nintendo eShop but donnot restore your cloud backup and turn off "Automatic back up save data" by clicking + on game then "Save data cloud" and click your user. once turned off your worlds won't be lost.
4. Once all these bugs/issues are fixed soon you can restore your cloud data and play on your worlds again.
The game just feels like brand new, smooth 60fps like William said, fast menu clicks and loading also I'm able to play with the high res BDcraft resource packs aswell. it's just like when I first downloaded the game when it released last year. only sacrifice for now is playing on our Worlds but I'm fine with that while we wait for a fix.
Wait it got deleted? I didn't notice but it wasn't me so I'll write it again
SoI play on Nintendo Switch and when I play on Single player in my 250MB world I have perfect performance with no framedrops, when playing Features Servers like Hive my framerate drops down to 10. Ali Djeffal - There may be several issues at play here, and maps in item frames is just one of the confirmed issues that we are looking into, along with the more general problem tracked here, too. Any extra information which players have found that may be a trigger for the lag issue might be useful in pinpointing where the problem lies.
@Ali Djeffal: I appreciate both your frustration and your restraint, honestly I do. Unfortunately, airing your complaint here will not improve matters and can actually make things worse by diluting comments that the developers might find useful. I cannot answer your concerns because I do not work for Mojang, nor do I have a channel for passing your comments on to Community Management. I'm just a volunteer with no more access than you to what's happening inside Mojang. That's why I directed you to Community Management on the Discord. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.
Alexander D: I read your first comment carefully, for what that's worth, because you deserve to be heard. Sadly, as you're already aware that's all I can really do. It sounds as if you've been given the brushoff on Twitter and the runaround on Discord; I'm sorry about that. I'm not sure who you contacted; perhaps it was another volunteer, as many of the mods there are. Regardless, directing you back here was not the appropriate response, and I'll try to address that with them and the Community Managers. It's possible that the Discord mods are unaware of our limited ability to answer your concerns, so like you and so many other commenters they expect us to have the answers. (Hmm, perhaps I can do something helpful after all!)
Your follow up comment is entirely welcome, it's the reason we provide for comments! Although I don't know whether the devs will find it helpful either, for a serious unresolved problem like this, more information is better than less.
Ali Djeffal: A few of the developers check on Discord occasionally, but it's not likely you'd happen to catch one who knows anything about the status of this problem. Understand that if the developers had to respond to questions from millions of customers, some of them irate, they'd have no time for anything else. That's why customer interactions are the Community Managers' responsibility.
Ali Djeffal: I expect the stutter you're describing happens during autosave. You could verify that by enabling Show Autosave in the Video settings. Note that if the Multiplayer Game setting is enabled (which it is by default), you are playing in multiplayer mode even while playing alone. It would be a good idea to disable the setting if you don't intend to play that world with other people. I'm not certain, but I think disabling it might reduce or eliminate the stutter.
Ali Djeffal: It sounds like you think Helen's questions are aimed at pinning down something you're doing wrong, but I'm sure that's not the case. I think she's just trying to anticipate the questions the developers will likely ask her, so she doesn't waste time and can maybe give them some clues about where to look.
Alexander D: I don't know enough to say whether having access to your friend's Realm could be helpful, but I'll ask about it. Probably not, though: There are people on the team who have a Switch and Realms at home, and there are Switch consoles in the office that they can test with (and no doubt have been). But I appreciate you looking out for ways to help, thank you.
Ali Djeffal: You are just the players, yes, but you're the absolute and only experts on what's still happening to you that you want Mojang to fix, so you have to communicate with them about it clearly enough to make them experts on it, too. I'm trying to help you do that. The list in your 2nd comment above is a good start. It breaks down your issues as distinct problems that occur under different circumstances, which is what the devs need. Now I just need more people to do that.
I'm not that familiar with BDcraft, but it's my understanding that any hi-res pack is going to demand a lot from the system it runs on, and every additional player inevitably adds that amount once over. If your server can only provide a modest amount of CPU and GPU power, Mojang can't guarantee that it will be capable of running BDcraft at the highest resolution. However, hi-res textures can also place a heavy burden on network connections, and that can contribute to performance problems, so if your intent was to suggest that the network traffic level is higher than it ought to be, even without BDcraft, that's something worth considering. Conversely, if you're suggesting that there's something wrong with BDcraft itself, that sounds like an issue for a different ticket.
In the old days of gaming, a game program commonly used a counting loop to measure the speed of its CPU when it started up. The software update you describe would have caused such a game to see the computer as faster at that time, and it wouldn't notice that it slowed down after a while, so it would cause the game to run slower than intended. I don't think programs need counting loops any more, because operating systems are more sophisticated now and can tell them the computer's speed, but I'll pass it along. (Does the Switch allow you to disable this function? It would be very interesting to find out whether disabling it makes a noticeable difference.)
That brings up a question I don't think I've ever asked here, but that could go a long way toward explaining performance problems and why only some consoles are affected: Is your console physically positioned according to Nintendo's recommendations? Some consoles (notably Xbox) are designed to automatically throttle down if they start to overheat. This shouldn't happen if the console is positioned according to the manufacturer's recommendations, but a lot of owners don't bother reading those and don't provide adequate airflow. They might not even realize it's a problem, because most games don't heat up the console enough to matter. But Minecraft uses more power than the average game, which means that it generates more heat. (So much that I can tell when it's running on my desktop computer just by listening to the fan.) So if your Switch isn't getting enough air, it might selectively make Minecraft run more slowly while other games (and other consoles, even in the same home) are unaffected. It's something to look at, because even if it isn't causing all your performance issues (and it probably isn't), it could be contributing to them.
Ali Djeffal: I'm not sure why you deleted your last comment. Reports of successful workarounds are also valuable information for the developers, so in case you thought it might not fit the commenting guidelines, I would say it very much did.
Thanks, everybody, for the positive feedback, and I'm very glad everyone is seeing great improvements, even if there are still some residual issues.
We have closed this ticket so that we can get a fresh start and the developers can take a new look at any problems you still have after the many changes made in 1.12.
I see that a few of you are reporting crashes. These are automatically reported to Mojang and handled outside the bug tracker, so it shouldn't be necessary to create a report for those.
Ali Djeffal: You might want to try disabling the cloud save again. If that doesn't help, and if you have the ability to save the world to a different location (I don't know whether the Switch has that ability), I would try that next, as old worlds that have crashed can accumulate dead files that make the world larger than it needs to be, and doing this would eliminate them. Otherwise, please create a new ticket to report the problem. You might not be the only one experiencing it.

@Mega_Spud
I’ve tested everything and removed all item frames/paintings/entities etc and framerate is still horrible, this is nothing on the Players end anymore. Switch players have been told before in the past to lower graphics and remove things that lag even tho it wasn’t actually the problem for ages. Every report here players are having the same issues and it’s unplayable. If a fix is being worked on then we appreciate it.
@Mega_Spud
Idk what else to test then, I’ve tested Maps on item frames and thats not the issue, I’m not understanding why its always the User that has to find this information which literally be anything, it could be the texture of Oak wood, it could be the colour of the Water, like I don’t get where to start here? I’ve removed ALL entities in my world including paintings and item frames/armour stands etc.
Yeah it's getting worse, the only help/response we've gotten is from one Moderator (Mega_Spud) and not one developer of the Game, All I know is 1.10 can't release with these big issues with how the game is running on Switch, has to be delayed or something until a hotfix goes live which I'm hoping for. But so far it's been quite with no fix confirmation or ETA just testing by the Players. I still have hope that this is Actively being fixed but without any response from a Developer we won't know for sure.
@OcelotOnesie Is there any proof of this? Is it true??
@Auldrick I just wanted to know if it's fixed in 1.10 because it's getting out of hand at this point
@Auldrick when you said "it's in integration testing" did you mean the Performance issues or the actual 1.10 Update? I understand the rest of what you said.
Just read over the 1.10 patch notes that released today and I couldn't find
MCPE-41479. So it looks like the Big performance issues are not fixed in 1.10 and I'm very frustrated right now. Switch will be unplayable for a long time unless a hotfix is released very soon. I'm lost and very confused....Im not sure how to add 1.10 into the effected version on this bug report but I will. Some bugs on Switch were fixed in 1.10 that had only 5 - 10 votes and this one has 50. So I don't understand why nothing is being done.
@Auldrick It's about time a decision is made: A hotfix or no fix. I think when an update is in certification only the added features are tested and not how the game runs. If it was like that then Switch would've failed Cert and the update would've been delayed. You can tell from this comment I'm really angry about this but as always I try to keep calm. Certification went really quickly as well so that could be proof. This report has 50 votes and wether it's gonna be hard to fix or not we need an ETA or confirmation wether it will be a hotfix or not. This is a big update with alot added and the more stuff added to the unplayable Switch version the lower the FPS and performance will get. This update has only made it worse don't you see? So it will be harder to fix now when it's decided, In the end the game doesn't belong to us and we can't tell the Team what to do.
@Auldrick I've tried to keep as positive and supportive as I can but like many people here it's unbelievably frustrating to do so, We are in the dark right now
@Auldrick And I appreciate your help alot, I'm not saying this is your fault because it isn't, you and Mega_Spud are the only help we've gotten and we appreciate that very much, if there's nothing more you can do then I understand, I was sitting here yelling about this which did not very much but it's because I have ran out of things to test with the game to help this. I was just trying to make a point to the Team by saying if you add more stuff into the game it will only get worse. But lastly thank you for the support because you actually cared..
@Alexander D. Alot of what you said is true but Auldrick can't do anything about it or give more help so saying that here won't work, we need to get in contact with the developers which idk how to do unfortunately (unless on the Minecraft Discord) He has helped us enough but can't do anything else
@Aukdrick I guess that makes sense but it would be nice if they were more open to Players issues so they can personally ask you questions about this (developers) I guess all we can do is wait or find something else to test, anything at this point. (Again we appreciate your help Auldrick)
@Auldrick didn't it release for Pacific time at 7pm? I have a friend in America who said he tested it and said it was worse, plus I didn't see the fix in the Update patch notes?
@Auldrick Follow up question: Did Helen say this fixed frame rate all together in single player or only 1/2 of it? (And my friend must have lied cause I don't think it's 7pm yet for Pacific time and I thought it was usually 2AM for Europe time or GMT?
@Auldrick Just spoke with Helen and your right, I'll do testing tomorrow when 1.10 is available to me, Thanks for your support along with HelenAngel aswell.
@CornerHard Will test it out, thanks for coming here
@Auldrick Yeah fixing 1 bug could cause another bug, I've got go now so this is my last reply for tonight, only thing I have left to say is thank you and everyone else for all the support and help. I have no clue what Server sync is but I'm not gonna ask but once that's fixed hopefully everything should be working the way it should.
@Aukdrick forgot to ask 1 little thing: is the server sync issue only new in 1.10 or was it in 1.9 aswell?
Currently testing 1.10 on Switch because it released for my time and it's going really well! I want to do further testing tho so I recommend everyone else doing the same thing so we can know for sure what has been fixed or improved (for me personally my frames are back to normal for single player)
I can confirm after multiple testing sessions that the performance is as smooth as ever for me (I haven't tested multiplayer for worlds yet) However: I have been getting a stutter or frame drop to 0 for about 5 to 10 seconds every 5 minutes in Single player which might be happening because as you said fixing one bug could cause another, although I won't classify it as a bug unless other players have the same issue (plus 1.10 only released yesterday so I'll give it time) But as of right now the game is playable and I'm very happy with the work that's been done! Soon I will test multiplayer with my friend who had performance issues like everyone else in 1.9 but his should be fixed too.
@Auldrick that's good to know and I'll test that to see what happens.
@Auldrick Yeah your right about the game slowing down when Autosave triggers, blocks don't load in when placed or destroyed until Autosave ends and I get occasionally stutters for around 10 seconds each time
@Wesley don't get too angry with it, things like this can be fixed it just needs to be looked into first and to make sure if other players have this issue aswell.
I have info: when the game stutters in auto save it happens in featured servers aswell even tho you cant see the game autosaving, I tested multiple servers and the game freezes for around 10 seconds and then stops. It happens in single player already but I've found out its in online multiplayer aswell (if this wasn't known already)
So I wasn't able to test with my friends because when they tried joining my world the game freezes as soon as they join and then the game freezes so the game kicks them from the world. This stuttering thing is affecting other things which I didn't expect so I might have to make a new report but don't want to move on from this report just yet.
@Bryce I wouldn't say it's unplayable but yes the stuttering is a bit annoying at times and I can confirm it also happens on Online Multiplayer with Servers/realms etc I tested it multiple times. I don't think adding disable autosave would work because it happens in Servers where you can't see autosave or disable it, just a new problem for Switch that's all.
Its a game problem because my friends have this issue aswell but for some people it's lucky for them that they don't freeze. I would wait until this server sync bug is fixed and if the game still stutters then a new report can be made.
I did multiple test sessions with my friend and he disconnects from my Worlds Everytime the game does the short/long freeze.
Please remember that they said a bug like this will take longer to fix, waiting can be hard to do but remember the more info we can find on this issue the faster we can get it fixed, yes things don't look good atm with how the game is running but asking for things like a realm subscription just won't help.
Yes William and Lars I'm not part of the Team or customer care (whatever that means) I'm just understanding where Auldrick is coming from so I'm trying to help a little with just finding more info so a solution can be made, nothing more than that
Same has happened for me in 1.10, tried changing the command a few times but won't work
I'm downloading 1.11 now and beginning to test it, I hope this Freezing bug is fixed because I don't want to wait until 1.12 to actually play the game again.
So my game is still freezing every 2 minutes and idk what's causing it, I'm wondering now how it passed Certification because this is a major Update, I don't think anyone here wants to wait until 1.12 for the game to be playable, so a hotfix would REALLY be appreciated at this point
The only new info I've gotten from this problem is that Switch multiplayer friends disconnect from Worlds when their game freezes which is the problem my friend is having....
I'm also getting a constant "Disconnected from Internet" message on my Switch even tho I stay connected to my wifi, idk if this is another symptom to these problems but I'm putting it here anyways.
I've found out the freezing happens less frequently when the multiplayer toggle is disabled in Worlds, I was playing on my own and my game didn't freeze but as soon as my friend joined I froze alot of times and he disconnected from it, Servers are multiplayer entirely so that explains why it happens there aswell.
@Auldrick well thanks for pinging them about this it does help, I don't really take my concerns to the community managers because I sometimes think they don't understand everything that might break in an update wether it's a bug or something else, I'd find it a bit weird going to them and asking if "X" is fixed in the next update or when will "Y" be added, but maybe I'm wrong.
@William they are working on the freezing or are people still having frame rate issues? It was fixed in 1.10 for me
@Robsummer not really helpful, these things are going to be fixed and no matter what game you play it'll have bugs including Hytale, if there's something you've found odd with the bug then please share it with us.
Also happening on Nintendo Switch, I have packs applied to global resources but when I close and reopen the game it just resets, I thought it got fixed in 1.11.0?
I did more testing and my game is freezing and sometimes crashing when I press save & quit, I thought this bug was fixed in 1.11 but maybe not......and it's strange how a 1.11.3 hotfix is releasing but not for Switch so it worries me more :/
Well I was reading HelenAngels Reddit thread and she asked many questions for info such as how many words you have/what are you doing when it lags the most etc etc. But to be completely honest I've done nothing to my game at all.....haven't changed anything or added more world's/same SD card/digital and the list goes on, I do see these problems as more than just one bug but a complete malfunction of the performance and lag, everything worked perfect from when Minecraft bedrock released on Switch all the way up to v1.9.0. I know im starting to complain so I'm sorry for doing that, had to get that off of my chest and I'll continue to look for more info if that's possible.
I wasn't blaming Helen for anything she's been very helpful with the 1.9 issues but im just trying to get over the fact that I haven't played the game properly since then because of this, I only do testing sometimes just to find something
I don't think it's fixed for Nintendo Switch because you have to click "Home" then force close it in the console menu, I can confirm that packs don't stay applied on Switch.
What I've learned from every issue appearing from 1.9.0 to 1.11 which is the current update is that the frame rate bug was improved in 1.10 but that fix made the freezing bug appear and then when 1.11 released nothing for Switch was fixed so that made the current bugs/issues more bigger, that was because there wasn't enough time to fix all these problems so the Update was set to release for every other platform that passed Cert which some players warned not to do, my solution for now is when 1.12 is ready then release it for the other platforms that it works on and keep Switch on version 1.11.1 to prevent more things breaking. Matt Gartzke said they are getting Engineers to work on the issues so once they have fixed everything then a hotfix can be released for Switch and then after it can be brought up to 1.12, then hopefully everything should be sorted but if updates get released as usual then it'll make the Switch worse every time when something is left bugged. That's just my good advice for now just so it won't be an endless cycle of these problems 👍
@Auldrick yeah I do see that as a problem but as the way things are right now I figured staying on an old version until the issues are fixed is more important than crossplay & realms, my plan there is a take or a leave so I hope the same that the issues are fixed before 1.12 or in the actual update, not many Switch players have access to their realms anyways with the disconnecting, sry to add that.
No it was just an assumption because alot of disconnects happen in game from the issues, I said that without thinking so sorry for that. I feel like 3/4 of Switch players have these issues and the rest are just lucky to not be affected.....it's just weird.
I mean it's hard to say what exactly is broken.....pretty much how the game performs is broken.
There is still some frame drops on servers
Game constantly freezes randomly
Slowdowns and lag with and without Autosave
UI panels take forever to load and also delay.
friends disconnect when the game freezes.
I mean these are my problems with the game but others might be different or worse, I think throughout the whole comment section is info on everything that is going on but like I said there's only so much we can find, we are just the players after all. Anyone else here feel free to say what is broken for you if that will even help the Team? Cause I'm not sure anymore...
Something new: I have VanillaBDcraft texture pack applied in a server and it's high resolution so frame rate drops alot more, it's fine for single player but for Servers it needs to be improved.
To add to this: Nintendo released a Software update for the Switch not too long ago and it makes the CPU Overclock when opening a game for faster loading times and then goes back to normal after, maybe the Minecraft Developers don't know about this and the overclocking messed up how Minecraft performs and runs, this guess is completely odd but I think it's good to say here and hopefully they find this useful.
@Auldrick The Nintendo Switch console design has a cooling fan inside it to cool down the system to prevent overheating when running high resolution games, just to add I'm not an expert at all with these things but a game like Minecraft isn't high resolution or a game that needs alot of RAM or resources to run, the high resolution texture packs dont cause the Switch to overheat but the game does drop frames which I don't understand why, it never did before 1.9 but something broke causing this to happen. And about the CPU overclock feature in Nintendos latest software update: this was just added so loading up games is faster than before by a few seconds but other than that I know nothing about CPU Overclocking, If my Switch was to overheat nothing actually slows down with gameplay but the fan inside gets more louder so the player knows it's overheating but if I close a game that's running on alot of Storage or is a big 3rd party game then the fan slowly stops. High resolution packs used to be 128x128 on Switch but because of a crash in a past update it was scaled down to 64x64 but had no problems, I wouldn't appreciate the Devs lowering the resolution even more because the Switch is a console not a phone. PC's slowing down when it doesn't get enough air hasn't happened to me with my Switch before so I have nothing to add to that. CPU/GPU/RAM/Specs etc etc I bearly understand sorry to say, but if there's anything else you want to ask me then go ahead and I'll try to answer some of them. (Oh and the players cannot disable the CPU overclock it was Nintendos Decision to do that)
If we just so happen to get a list of info and theory's with what might be causing these bugs maybe a Mod can update the description of the report so everyone can see?
So a hotfix is rolling out for Switch soon that addreses several crashes during gameplay on Nintendo Switch just to point this out and it includes the previous hotfix bug fixes, so once it's released we can see what's different or if nothing changed at all. (1.11.4)
Tested 1.11.4 but the game still freezes, the wait continues
@Alan I've been playing since the game released on Switch, it's just after 1.8 things went really bad.
@Auldrick could you maybe pass my suggestion about keeping Switch on this version, I know crossplay wouldn't work but this needs time to fix in my opinion, if not then it's fine I won't complain.
Same issue here on Nintendo Switch
I've left a new video on the report for what happens when the frame rate drops on servers. The first part is at 60fps like normal but you'll see it dropping after.
New information: Helen said that the Team is working with Nintendo because only certain users are affected
From Discord: "So what we have going on is some Switch units that are still severely affected, some that were affected but now are fixed, and some that were never affected"
"We won't stop until everyone is fixed"
So we do know that the issues are being taken seriously for everyone and I'm hoping they will be fixed soon, the thing I really recommend for the time being is not to give Switch a big content update unless the fixes are in it just to prevent more issues appearing👍
Can confirm it wasn't fixed for Console (Xbox & Switch) because on mobile/Windows 10 there is a button to leave the game but on console you have to force close from the console home menu, so this bug was fixed when closing it normally not force close.
Frame rate for single player was fixed in 1.10 but not for servers so I left a new video showing how it can go down to about 2 frames at random, just to show how bad it can get.
@Christopher Biggles: While yes each day that goes by it gets even more frustrating to wait for a fix for this mess if you do DM HelenAngel on the Minecraft discord she will talk with you about these bugs and will let you know what is happening (what Auldrick said in his reply) as for me I'm just waiting for 1.12 so this can be resolved permanently and I can play the game again.
@William Proffitt: no I haven't had that issue signing in but whenever I load up the game I get a communication error when I'm still connected to WiFi, but that's different from this
Ive had this problem since 1.8 so I'm not sure
@Alan Workman: the freeze happens anytime in the game, idk what causes it but usually when I press toggle perspective it doesn't freeze immediately, just whenever the game feels like freezing.
Got word from Gartzke that 1.12 is in the Polish phase before Certification which means it's close to releasing, he did say that there are some more bugs being worked on but I'm praying that 1.12 eliminates the Freeze bug and the fps drops on Servers which is the most critical bugs.
Just wanted to add that the freeze bug is in the whole base game itself, even with the multiplayer toggle disabled cause when it freezes the home menu button doesn't work or anything else (it's obvious but I won't say it again)
Added a new clip, I thought that 1.10 improved fps for single player but turns out it didn't fix it fully and still drops whenever it wants, it's supposed to be 60fps locked.
@Auldrick All games on Switch that are 1st party & 3rd party run at 60fps except for Fortnite/Warframe which run at 30fps, a "high" framerate is usually 120fps which can only be possible on high end PC's not console, 60fps is completely normal for Switch.
And to add: a game like Minecraft which is very low resolution definitely runs at 60fps without all the Switch performance bugs affecting it, back when Minecraft bedrock released on Switch it was 1080p 60fps locked, so after all the Switch bugs are fixed the fps will be back to normal, I wouldn't see a reason not.
@William Proffitt: you fixed all of that by deleting all data? Did you back your data up into the cloud before and then once you deleted everything you restored it? or did you delete all your data on the cloud aswell?
@Michael Tramel: I assume you don't own a Switch, because it would be obvious to you that all first party games are 60fps and some 3rd party games that have been optimized for that framerate but not all of them. I did a basic explanation to Auldrick because he said he wasn't an expert on the matters.
@Miguel Avelar: does the Switch cloud save your worlds if you backup your data on cloud them delete your game data and restore after redownloading the game?
Yeah that's why I removed that comment, my bad. I just don't know if it saves worlds so I'm a bit scared to test it and see if anything gets fixed for me, cause the game feels a bit like 1.9 for me in single player.
So I just deleted my save data and deleted the software on my Switch and reinstalled without restoring my data from the Cloud and I'm currently testing gameplay:
1. Performance in servers feels as smooth as ever, it's like 60fps locked (signed into same Microsoft account)
2. Menus/interactions are very fast unlike before where it takes 10 seconds to open a menu or click a button.
3. Currently have no freezes but only a few frame drops in single player which I'm playing currently. honestly the game feels like brand new! (this is without download packs from the store and only 1 world) now I'm not sure what would happen if I restored my data cause I think that mightve been whats causing the freezing and other performance bugs. Now I'm still waiting for the freeze bug to appear which is my biggest problem. I'll keep this updated because I have hope after this testing.
I just restored my save data and I got the performance issues back and the freeze bug so yeah Cool Guy your right, this looks like a temporary fix for now and I think the bugs have something to do with Switch save data but that's what the devs have to look into and fix but I think it's good if that can be passed on by a Mod to the developers because it's useful info.
@Auldrick as far as I know restoring save data from the cloud restores everything in the game but for Minecraft it's just Worlds and I think Realms, everything else purchased is saved on your Microsoft account. But you can turn off automatic cloud save so your temporary new data won't overwrite your actual save data that is affected by the bugs.
@Auldrick thank you this is a big step to resolving these problems.
The game just feels like brand new, smooth 60fps like William said, fast menu clicks and no freezing at all. It feels like when I first downloaded the game when it released last year. only sacrifice for now is playing on our Worlds but I'm fine with that while we wait for a fix.
The update doesn't arrive on Switch until probably tommorow so the thing I want fixed in this update is the Freeze bug along with other performance improvements so Worlds can be played on again by downloading our data back from the cloud. I'd be very disappointed if that wasn't fixed in this update
It's 2:30am here in Europe and can't see the update, maybe later
Edit: updating now, I'm gonna restore my cloud data with my worlds to test if the freezing is fixed, if it isn't I'll just use my temporary data till 1.13
So I downloaded back my cloud data and I'm playing on my World but I'm gonna report back on gameplay tommorow cause it's late, I will say that I haven't gotten any freezes so if other people can test that when you can turn we'll know for sure.
Are we changing the status to fixed straight away? I haven't tested gameplay properly yet so there might still be something left. Or if I just got lucky last night with no freezing.
So I've done more testing and I'm playing on my world from the downloaded data that had the bugs/freezing and for me it looks like the freeze bug is gone! im only getting a bit more noticeable framedrops in my world but maybe that's because it's 250MB or the amount of item frames etc in it. but I'm satisfied with what's been fixed (I'm not sure what that disconnecting thing is cause I haven't gotten that yet but maybe a new report can be made for that) thanks everyone for being so helpful along the way including the mods for passing on things to the team. I can finally get back to playing what I love again😊
The final thing I want to say with my testing is I am getting unusual frame drops in single player which is less the amount I get usually. My world is old and 250MB but I do see a difference that isn't normal, I think if that can be improved then it will be fine again and also my friend is getting constant crashes when joining my world but that might need a different bug report.
@Auldrick unfortunately the Switch can't save worlds to different location, the only way of restoring worlds is downloading back the cloud save, my framerate is fine when I'm away from my main area which also is underground so that could be causing the fps drops. I remember Gartzke saying more fixes are in the works for Switch so I'm gonna wait for those to see what's improved. But thanks for your help with everything I'm happy this is ending now.
@Auldrick I used to have way to many but I got rid of alot of them awhile ago and my fps was better, it's not bad right now I can play with it it's just lower than I expected. I do still have a fair amount of entities tho.
Well I can see this has been updated so could it be fixed anytime soon? I'd like to use beacons again..
So why was console edition different? The light would disappear at Max chunk distance, for me playing on Switch that should be 14 chunks of visibility for Bedrock, whatever function the beacon works on needs to be changed into its own unique function so when everything around the beacon disappears when further away you can still see the light, gotta do something instead of just leaving a broken beacon in the game u know🤷
So in the latest beta 1.13.0.16 there is a bug fix that says "Partially fixed an issue that caused global resources not to be applied after relaunching the game". So maybe this means it was fixed in this beta or 1/2 fixed which I'm not sure how that would work. but it's good to point that out anyways.
This is still an issue I have on the latest update
