So, this is a difficult bug to describe, so here's a gif (attached as well). Try to look to the left and right of next to the "Open Resource Pack Folder" and "Done" buttons. It changes whether I'm in the options menu or in the resource menu.
The console is constantly filled with the following message when in the game (server and single player, any dimension):

I have a little private server and these snapshots have absolutely ruined its performance. During no period of time when a player is on the server is the tick rate above 10 t/s, and I've been debugging it, trying to find the cause. It turns out that the root levels tick causes 95% of the lag, entities about half of that, horses cause 30% of that, and the pathfinding causes 99% of the horses' lag. The issue is that I've used the execute command to find that we only have 2 horses loaded when this debug measurement was taken; essentially, horses cause 14% of the server's lag, though there are only two. I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but this seems very broken. The horses are in the spawn chunks, but the server runs at 20 t/s when no players are in the game.
CJ Burkey: Endermites are attacked by endermen if they have the PlayerSpawned tag set to 1. If endermen do not attack endermites spawned by ender pearls, that means that PlayerSpawned is 0, and that is a bug.
CJ Burkey I use NBTExplorer for region files editing. You can also hard remove any entity by editing them directly in region files if you can't kill them in-game.

Is this the glitch that allows the amazing elevators and transport systems?
Having same issue. Crash is attached. Affects 18w07a, 1807b, and 1807c crash-2018-02-16_11.36.59-client.txt
I don't think nether portals have ever fully worked perfectly. Currently, I have a world where the nether portal was created at -37, 66, -181 and it spawns a portal at 12, 78, -19 in the nether. When returning from the nether, a new portal is spawned at 91, 70, -138 though I have never moved the original portal or the nether portal.
I think it's fixed in 1.13-pre6, which makes me sad
Crashes entire server when entering the end, also 1.13-pre9
Works fine in 1.13-pre10, did you spawn them with a spawn egg or command? If through command, which one? Endermen will only attack enderpearl-spawned endermites.
No, it's most definitely supposed to be Update Aquatic. It's called a postpositive adjective, you can read more about them here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postpositive_adjective
Essentially, they are "an attributive adjective that is placed after the noun or pronoun that it modifies."
One change is that textures are referred to as "item/TEXTURE" or "block/TEXTURE" rather than "items/TEXTURE" or "blocks/TEXTURE". Also, keep in mind that many blocks and items got renamed.
This is an issue with Faithful, not Minecraft. The textures were changed and faithful hasn't fully updated yet unless you're a Patreon supporter.
Try using another launcher such as MultiMC (my friend had the same problem, and this fixed it)
Turn on VSync, I've found from personal LWJGL3 projects have really terrible tearing without it.

MC-134379Sounds like you should try reinstalling the launcher, it should come with its own version of Java
Is there an error that looks somewhat like this in your .minecraft directory: "hs_err_pid_xxxxxxx" or anything like that?
I think they use linear mipmapping over the previous nearest
The resource packs need to update, I believe they moved some stuff around
This is intended behavior. In the new snapshots, ocelots can only be "temporarily tamed" into "tamed ocelots" rather than cats. To tame a cat, you have to locate one in a village (they already have their cat skin) and tame it there.
Have you tried it in another world? I'm not having issues in mine.

MC-138332? It sounds the same, I don't know if the other poster sees hearts or not. This also occurs when playing on a dedicated server (it's anything multiplayer). I created a separate issue:

First thing's first, don't put or request help in the title, just describe the issue. Second, you didn't supply a log so we can only guess at what the issue is. Finally, that looks like a mesh problem, not a texture issue. What graphics card do you have?

Possibly related to
MC-138717?In 18w45a, the world does not load when joining a server, or at least, the terrain doesn't generate until about a minute after joining (I was going to say never loads, but I left the world loading while I was typing this). I can hear the sounds of mobs, machines, etc (stuff happening), it's just that the terrain never loads and the game says "Waiting for Chunk" on the F3 screen. When switching dimensions, the server runs for about a minute, then crashes with the "Game seems frozen for 60 seconds, shutting down now" message (this seems to be fixed in 18w45a, actually). Essentially, it seems like terrain takes forever to load on the client when joining a server.

MC-138114?Without seeing the log, it seems like
MC-138539which is likeMC-138114@Cody Fenno that’s pretty much a guarantee. I’ve been running my server on an SSD the whole time, and I only get <10t/s on a good day.
Running on a server, 18w47b is infinitely worse than 18w47a; the world just never actually loads at all. No crash or anything, and the server only compains about running about 40 ticks behind every 20 seconds or so. The client simply never loads the chunks.
@Matej Mráz they can't just "do it like they did back then." They rewrote the entire terrain generation system in 1.13 when they rewrote the game, and have been working more on it in 1.14.
@Michael Hurt Wait, I've got an Intel Xeon X5670 (6-core, 2 processors), but used to have Xeon X5550 (4-core, 2 processors); the chunk issues occurred on both systems. Is this an Intel Xeon issue? I was running Windows 7 Home Premium on the system and 10 gigabytes of ram allocated to the server.
Yup, chunks still simply don't load on the client when joining a server, though the server is running at about 13-15 t/s (It's been slow since the snapshots started, so that's "normal").
Actually, after about 15 minutes of sitting in the void, suddenly half of the world loaded, still waiting on the other half. Update: the world loaded after 17 minutes!
Seems to exit fine for me on 18w48a
@Patrick Dinklage What processor would you happen to have? If you tried multiplayer, do you know the server specs?
@Patrick Dinklage I was asking because both @Michael Hurt and I had servers with Xeon, at least we know it's not that.
@Patrick Dinklage It could be something like that, I notice a pretty high RX count (around 500), though that may be low for all I know, I don't pay attention to it usually. I wait about 15 minutes and my world loads, and usually almost all at once, which tells me it wouldn't be computation power at fault.
@Warren Liddell I don't think so, it's on singleplayer and multiplayer for some people; if it is related to that, it would mean it's the internal server on the client, but it's not occurring for everyone.
@David Chamberlin Definitely; haven't been able to play since 18w43c (there was a 10 minutes or so for one of the snapshots a few weeks ago that I managed to get my friends on, but it was too slow to do anything like leave the spawn chunks)
@Corey Norlander I think
MC-139717is a duplicate unless there's some nuance in the issues. It would appear that 18w50a fixes this for me! The debug commands drops the TPS to 2-3 t/s, but when it's not running, the server feels like 17-19 t/s, which is butter compared to the last 17 weeks of agony. I don't think I changed anything else.
@Quinn Dagenais Change the
value in server.properties
@Quinn Dagenais Just change your render distance in video settings, that should change it for SP and lan
@Quinn Dagenais Peter says he couldn't confirm whether it helped, but you could try 16 to see if the server side of the game runs faster.
@Supernova792 Honestly I'd say it's worse in this version in the wake of their "performance improvements" for 19w02a.
I should probably start a new issue, but I still experience this every once in a while in the new 1.14 snapshots.
@Johnibur But the issue is, even with the coordinates, you can't edit the region file. None of the editors are updated for 1.14 yet and I can't find any that work. I also can't use the /kill method because the server crashes before commands are processed as the entity is in the spawn chunks.
@Noelle Leslie I think he just meant using a server.jar instead of loading it in single player? I'm not sure though, it was worded a little funny.
I just tested with a brand new world and can confirm that this issue was not present when I was the only player. Chunks were almost able to keep up with me flying at maximum spectator mode speed. It gets bad when another player joins and starts loading chunks, at which point the entire server experiences a ton of lag. 19w12a has made this seem a little nicer, though. When only one player is loading new chunks, the server runs tolerably, but definitely not well.
That's always been like that, you're on the ground and releasing the shift key causes you to un-crouch
From what I've seen, it's almost as if it gets much, much worse for every player that's on the server. When I'm alone, it loads just as well as single player, but as soon as another player joins, both of us loading chunks at the same time makes both of our chunk loading nearly halt. I have noticed, however, that if one player stays still and another loads new chunks, the chunk loading is somewhat better, though not as good as in single player. If both players move together and load the same chunks, performance still takes a gnarly hit.
@Lunos Ouroboros What's the server's render distance? It shouldn't matter anymore because it was supposed to be fixed in 19w14a, but there might be problems if the server's view distance is greater than your client's.
Has anyone tried multiple players on pre3 yet? That's where I ran into problems. My server ran fine until someone else joined, then it tanked. I can't test it right now, but I might be able to test it later.
