The sounds of metal pressure plate have been changed since 1.19.3. They used to have a higher sound pitch than wood pressure plate but since 1.19.3 their pitch is lower than
wood, while wood pressure plate sounds unchanged.I don't believe this is intentional because the pitch used to be hard coded in the game. The 1.19.3 sounds.json now shows:
"block.wooden_pressure_plate.click_off": 0.7 pitch since 1.19.3
"block.wooden_pressure_plate.click_on": 0.8 pitch since 1.19.3"block.metal_pressure_plate.click_off": 0.65 pitch since 1.19.3 (this needs to increase)
"block.metal_pressure_plate.click_on": 0.75 pitch since 1.19.3 (this needs to increase)To bring back the normal sounds for metal pressure plate, Mojang needs to increase its pitch in the sounds.json probably to 0.75 and 0.85, or even higher.

This issue is happening to me as well (1.15.2) everytime I play and mine. It is quite irritating so I am switching back my world to 1.14.4.

I am sorry I cannot provide screenshots. Weirdly, it doesn't seem to appear on them.
I just found a let’s play where issue is visible at 8:22

I confirm what people said above and that it affects 20W17A as well.
Hi it is me again. So I bought a new laptop (Dell G3 3590) with way better specs than the one I used before, and unfortunately the problem persists. I confirm for latest snapshot 20w21a.
To see the issue, dig in survival in total darkness to the deep underground.
I couldn't capture the issue in the screenshot, but here are my specs:
Best wishes,
Hi,
Yes, I confirm for 1.16 pre-release 8. Some block drops are black for a moment while insta-mining. I found the result with sand and gravel with a shovel efficiency 5. It is very brief so I took a lot of screenshots to capture the issue.
I personally noticed this for the first time since 1.15.2 so it may be linked with
MC-167359(which has been resolved recently).I found a video where issue is visible at 3:04
