Randomly if your near a minecart going up and down a rail it will sometimes glitch making the sound of it non-stop. You can turn off your sound of break the minecart and it will still go. The ONLY way to get it to stop is by quitting the game.
I expected that turning off the sound would stop it or quitting to title.
But instead i had to completely close minecraft.

This has happened twice at two different situations so I have no idea how to make it happen again.

Same thing happened to me but slightly different. I press f11 to go to fullscreen normally but when i press f11 again the screen turns black. You can still click stuff but cant see. I resolved it by closing my netbook then opening it again.
I think this should stay a future
Thanks so much for your support this is a really annoying glitch,
it is now in the 1.7.1. pre-release change-log.
Thanks dinnerbone for fixing this issue.
I experienced this same thing on snapshot 14w25b.
