Changed Description:
I copied my single player world to a server to play with some friends for a day. When I copied my world back to single player, my 20 dogs went that were tamed and in a wooden fence disappeared.
Not sure if this had to do with it but, I gave my friend some items that I wanted back after he left. I changed his username to mine temporarily in the "players" folder. I logged on to my server, got my stuff and logged out and changed the names back.
I don't know which of these things caused my dogs to disappear.
What I expected to happen:
The dogs would stay unchanged sitting in their pen and I'd continue happily. What happened:
Alien abductions, apparently.
I can confirm this in creative mode.
Sometimes the carts in the circle will follow me when I go past it.
Sometimes after I reach the end of the track I will move across grass for about 20 blocks before finally stopping.
If I have a circle on both ends of the track, when hitting the second circle of carts, I will immediately be sent the opposite direction.
Why do Zombies not attack when provoked yet, Skeletons, Spiders, Enderman, and Creepers do?
I also experienced this in 1.3.2, with no mods installed.
This also happened to me in 1.3.2.
I also experienced this locally in 1.3.2. But it was only a half or whole heart.
Would it be because you have to have the map in your inventory and be in that area before it will update the map?
If you have a map, put it in a chest or frame, build something, it won't change the map until you are in that area, and also have the map in your inventory.
I also agree. I have a village with 66 houses and they all try to cram into one. Eventually I worked around this by adding tunnels from house to house for 'overflow'. Also adding ladders to the roof with fence around it.
I read, on the wiki I think, that villagers will become invisible when taken out of a certain radius of their village in 1.3.2.
Within a certain radius, villagers will try to walk back to their village, but outside of this radius they will wonder randomly. Not 100% sure if this is related though.
I occasionally had gotten about 10-15 zombies spawn at once in my village in 1.3.2, but never to that degree. Wow, that's a lot of mobs.
i could have swore i read that this was changed in an update somewhere.. hmm maybe not, but it does happen in 1.4.2 and is pretty annoying..
I couldn't recreate this. Maybe lists specific steps to take to get this to work? I don't think I understand completely.
For my test (that failed):
1. In creative mode create a 3x3x2 cube with the to middle blocks hollowed out for the zombies
2. one block above the cube, no touching, so the zombies don't burn to death
3. spawn zombies in the cube
4. switch to survival with /gamemode 0
5. jump repeatedly until all hunger disappears.
6. stand next to zombies though the cube.
7. nothing.. starvation gets me to a half a heart, but no knock back from zombies.
Also, I'm running mac osx lion.
This also happens to the inside of fence gates on one side. I'm not sure if I should make a new post or not though. Maybe you could just update the title to include fence gates and I'll add pictures?
fishing pole*
I'm going to assume, 'works as intended' as they don't really have a use for anyone to drag them around.. I'd say they're mostly just for looks.

MC-218This isn't a bug. It's just fun litte title thingy. I thought it was funny when I first saw it.
I've notice this happening occasionally too. Especially in jungles. At first I thought it was a feature until I read it under the bugs section on the minecraft wiki.. I kind of like it actually. Shouldn't trees dropp saplings and apples naturally anyway? That's my opinion at least.
Hey guys, calm down. It takes a long time to even find what's causing the problem, let alone find a way to fix it. Plus, there's almost 2000 other bugs on here right now. Be patient guys. Besides, I couldn't imagine a bug like this being in-game for very long.
I agree with Rodney. I think there should be another dat file or something per world that stores achievements. At least until they implement online achievements. It's a tad bit annoying to get an achievement for pressing the 'E' button each update.
I'm with Mustek. Not a bug. They changed the way golden apples work when they re-introduced them.
It doesn't really sound like it'd be a feature. But I couldn't reproduce this. The most I'd get is what appears to be a duplicate armor........ for 0.00001 of a second, and only about 1 out of 10 times, before disappearing. Do you have an older system?
This also happens to spiders when you use a spider egg on a wall in creative mode. Possibly related?

MC-119This isn't the place for requests or problems you are having with minecraft unless it's a specific bug you are having in-game. Sign up to a minecraft forum and post there. Thanks.
I'm pretty sure since this can't be created in vinilla minecraft only, it's not considered a bug here. Sorry.
I wouldn't call this a bug. I think it's intentional. What does minecraft have to work with if you give it nothing? Zero probably breaks the algorithm that's used to generate the world. I know nothing of algoritims or anything but.. Zero multiplied by anything is zero.
Sorry about that. I wasn't aware. I saw MCEdit and assumed it wasn't vinilla. Sorry.
I'm pretty sure spiders and zombie pig-men do this as well..
@Charlie I'm on a mac and have been on a pc server.
I haven't tried it with single player lan though, but I'd just thought I'd say that it does work with actual servers.
I might be able to test this later today.
I feel like they'd need more information to get anything fixed.
What are your control settings on?
I've had this problem on my ubuntu laptop before, but I had always thought it was because of performance issues.
works for me as well..

MC-950Nah, it works. You have to set your mac up to allow it.
apple button > system preferences > security and privacy > tick 'allow applications downloaded from anywhere'
I don't understand the problem. He looks good to me...
Maybe post before pictures as well?
@Alexander Are you serious? Really? ...I looked at the pictures, didn't see a problem. Still don't. Are you referring to the arm not holding the bow sticking out? No where on this page did it mention how the arms were misplaced.
Ah, thanks Enri. I see that now. It was such a small change I didn't notice.
I would consider this a bug even though it makes since that it gets unloaded. It worked in previous versions and now it doesn't. Also it would be extremely useful when exploring.
Maybe try updating java?
@Brandon For example say the normal render distance loaded a radius of 5 chunks and the beacon was located 5 chunks away from where you are currently located. Now, if you would change your render distance to low, lets just say low renders only 2 chunks away, you would no longer see the beacon beam.
Now that I re-read the OP's post, I'm not sure if I'm understanding what the problem is either :S... But what I said above, still happens to me.
Not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure all non-passive mobs will de-spawn if you're out side of the render distance. So I'd say it works as intended.
