Items move incredibly fast in water flows
When placed in a water stream, items move much faster than other entities, even faster than the player swimming at top speed.

Can confirm in 20w51a. Seems to move at an unnaturally fast speed. This could be intentional, however.

Isnt that intended? Its for item streams and such.
Can confirm in 1.17.1 but this seems very intentional, items should be lighter than other entities.
In 24w35a. It seems to get more fast towards the end of a water stream
