MC-1318By placing a bed at the same time as throwing it away makes it a half bed.
If you place (right click the ground) a bed at the same time as you throw it away (click the buttons at the same time). You place it, but you just place half the bed, and the part of the bed that's there is the side with the pillow.
Both in survival and creative.

The bug is back in version 17w47b.
