Does MC-151079 describe your issue?
Dupe of MC-151079?
No, since this Issue seems to happen upon upgrading a World from 1.14 to any 1.14.1 Version or Pre-Releases. While MC-151079 happens during the time you are playing in 1.14.1 Even from creating a new World in 1.14.1 directly MC-151079 can be reproduced and another thing is that this Issue affects any type of POI memory, from Beds, Workstations and Meeting Points, all of this Data gets wiped out when you upgrade a World to this version.

This is a duplicate of MC-151079, which has been marked resolved but is in fact still happening.
Example of this behavior occurs to the second villager from the right at 0:13 in attachment.

Can confirm.
Sometimes he will latch on to a workstation already used by another villager. Once traded with, however, he seems to stick.
I can confirm for 1.14 pre-release 2. In the pre-releases if villagers can't pathfind to their workstations they loose their professions. However, if a villager is standing right next to their workstation and have a path of 0 blocks to their workstation they can loose their profession as well.
The same happens when an unemployed villager is spawned or placed in a 1x1x2 area. When you place a workstation, the villager can not find it and does not change even if it is in his face.
Can confirm in Minecraft 1.14.2 Pre-Release 1
Can confirm in Minecraft 1.14.2 Pre-Release 2
Can confirmed in Minecraft 1.14.2 pre-release 3
Might not add much at this point, but please see the video I made about this issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qpw5ub2TR_A
I think I'm mistaken about their re-bonding ability, toward the end, because the more I test, it seems like villagers who are ranked up past Novice have to be transported at least 96 blocks away from their old workstation and then back again, to be able to detect it as a candidate for re-bonding.
That attached video of the villagers flickering in and out of their professions is awesome, btw. Very good capture of that behavior.
I've seen this behavior even after trading with a villager. The villager(A) will have claim to a specific workstation but for some reason drop it leaving it for another villager to claim. Villager A will then not be able to restock his trades and it becomes difficult to force him to take on another workstation.
May have been caused when fixing
MC-149576(Where villagers wouldn't update their profession/bed unless they were next to it)Can confirm for 1.14.2
It seems this is one of the easiest bugs to reproduce with villagers, the other one that is way easier is the villagers breeding anyway without beds. So its good that it is finally fixed for the next version
The bug still happen in 1.14.2, I hope that bug will be resolved soon, because my sorting machine for my villagers do not work.
This happens in Bedrock Edition too, But not too fast, Sometimes he just thinks "Im so rare and got mending on my trade, So I think imma leave my profession for 5 seconds and come back so who gave me the workstation gets mad"
This is the bug tracker project for Java Edition only. Please go to the MCPE project for bugs in Bedrock Edition.
I dont now if i shall do new or post here. But villagers still lose professions when they have a workbench close bay. And next day they have farmer profession agen.
There are multiple reports that were resolved as a duplicate of this one, describing a problem with villagers losing their workstation and other villagers taking them over. This issue definitely wasn't resolved, so maybe the mods could reopen one of the duplicates where that issue is described.
I've had two fully leveled up villagers lose their workstation while playing in 1.14.4-pre3, and they are now unable to restock. I was just in the village for a while and trading, not breaking or adding any workstations.
The issue brought up by Christoph Kummer also has happened to me many times, making villager trading frustrating, As he says, maybe making a new issue or opening up a duplicate that explains that specific issue would be the best course of action.
Please create a new ticket about that, if we don't have one (that is unresolved) about it already. There's also
MC-152950, which might cause this issue. Not fixed. Still occuring in 1.14.4
Then please create a new ticket.
