1.16.2 Nether Portal Glitch
I went into a nether portal I made with a zombie chasing me (not sure if that has anything to do with this) and it was nearly in the portal with me. When I got to the nether, I walked a couple blocks away then turned around and came back. However, when I came back, I ended up in a completely different location with a brand new portal. I didn't do anything except walk through, turn around, and come back, so I really don't know if there's anything that could have caused this.
CORRECTION:
After going into creative to see where I was, I saw the portal was actually pretty close to the old one.

Are you 100% certain you or, if it is a server, someone else created the portal you came out to?
No it was a single player world with just me in it and I had never seen the area I came out in before.

MC-197538Can confirm, my portal was working fine from 1.14 to 1.16.1, after updating to 1.16.2 going to the nether is working, but when going back the new portal is created instead about 100 blocks away. Portals were not linked manually, portal in the nether was auto-generated after building the overworld one, and now they don't link at all.
I am experiencing the bug as well, 1.16.3 tried to escort a player to my base, suddenly ending up in middle of nowhere.
Tried a YouTube fix, did not work, now I am just in creative each time a new portal is being made, replacing the portal with Bedrock, hoping it fails to generate a new one, so it gives up and generates the way it is supposed to.
I hope this gets fixed soon or I won't have a portal going to my base near The End.
