Player gains a farther jump when jumping from the edge of soul sand, as opposed to from the center of the block
Jumping from the center of soul sand makes the player jump only about 2 blocks, but jumping from the edge allows the player to jump 3 blocks.
In the video, it is shown that I can make a 3 block jump from the far edge of soul sand, but I cannot even make a 2 block jump if I make my jump while my hitbox is in the middle of the block, even though this jump is technically closer to me. I also feel slower while in mid air when trying the second jump.
Expected result: Player should always have the reduced jump even when starting the jump off of the edge.

While the behavior in MC-262724 is based on being on the block from the beginning, I showed a different point of view
when he tries to jump on the block and immediately bounce back. Yesterday I thought I was presenting something else,
but after today's tests, I bet that it may be a potential duplicate of MC-262724
Can't replicate while making sure I don't spring forward in mid air. I can't even make a 3 block jump without sprinting.
As weird as it is, sprinting can be 'added' when mid air. Can you confirm you have done this without engaging sprinting?
After some testing, I don't think i can reproduce this same bug without sprinting.
Although it kind of seems that if I do sprint, the sprint seems to not be added mid air if I start on the far side of the block. Though I could be wrong.
