Mining Blocks, they break and then reappear
Playing game like normal
After aprx. 15min of game play and general after mining continuously for at least 5min. The error starts to occur.
will mine either a single block or a series of blocks, they will break and drop collectibles, then will reaper in place, collectibles disappear, I can then re-mine them, it will take three or four attempts at mining before they break and stay gone.
Only way I have found to clear the error is to save and quite and then reopen world however this only works twice then have to completely close program.
The problem seems progressive the longer I play with the error the worse it gets, eventually massive delay becomes present when placing items.

I'm not sure if this should be considered a duplicate of
MC-42088. If someone's symptom is blocks not breaking, then this kind of post would be what they're looking for. Not "chunk loading errors." Maybe it should just say they're "related" instead, if both sets of symptoms stem from the same issue. It was very hard for me to try reporting/voting up/updating this issue, because of this post listed as a "duplicate" of
MC-42088, when that other post does not match the symptoms stated in THIS post. Get what I mean?Unless someone could update
MC-42088to include this symptom, both in the main post AND the title. Then it would be fine.

For some reason, MC-41197 is listed as a duplicate of this issue (blocks break, then re-appear). And that one's listed as "Resolved", but it is happening to me again in release 1.7.4, in Windows 7. It's consistent and ruins my attempts at a hardcore speed-run, so I had to go back to 1.7.2 for the time being.
I'm really not sure this issue and MC-41197 should be counted as the same; nobody without programming knowledge would look for this issue, if their symptom is blocks breaking, then un-breaking. This made it hard for me to attempt reporting the issue.
Thanks.
Please attach the complete output of the "Development console" tab of the launcher.
If the launcher closes after game start, please edit your profile and select "Launcher visibility" then, "Keep the launcher open".
Please re-attach the dev console after starting a game and having the reappearing effect.
I have this issue also. I am running 64-bit Vista w/ 8Gb.
I uninstalled old versions of java and installed latest (ver 7 update 45) 32 and 64 bit versions (because I use both types of browsers). Minecraft now opens with 64 bit java, but the problem continues, even after bumping allocated memory in the profile to 2G.
I also noticed the javaw.exe remains as a process after closing minecraft. A new javaw.exe is created everytime I open and close minecraft. I am able to close these processes, but it doesn't help the problem.
I usually see this happen on SMP when my comp starts to overheat. The server slows down and eventually crashes.
Would like to attach an updated dev log however, every time the error occurs, and i go to copy the log, the launcher is locked up, and am unable to get the information, is there a text log generated somewhere i can find ?

So is there any way to fix these problems ? I am just fiding the chunks missing but that is not the primary issues reported.
The primary issue is with block breaks.
Please re-open this issue. It has reappeared in Minecraft 1.7.4 on Windows 7, rendering it frustratingly unplayable for my speed-run attempts. I don't think this is a duplicate of chunk-loading errors either; it's a completely different symptom. Nobody would look for "chunk loading errors" if block-breaking is the actual problem. I can upload video evidence if the devs need proof.
