Constant crashing when starting Minecraft
Recently, whenever I open Minecraft I have been greeted by a crash report and I can't even play the game! I am just playing vanilla Minecraft without mods and I have tried all that I can think of like re-installing the game and nothing works! Any help or possible solutions would be greatly appreciated! ![]()

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

This is a bug tracker, not a technical support site. The point is to give the developers information about bugs so that they can fix them for everyone, not so that someone will help you fix the problem. They haven't determined the cause of this problem yet, but from the crash reports, it can be determined that whatever caused MC-4947 also caused your problem. Thus, you should watch MC-4947 for updates on the problem and its resolution.
This issue was fixed somewhen in 2013, see MC-4947.
You may of course try a clean installation by deleting .minecraft (keep saves and servers.dat) and restart the Launcher.
It's still not a Launcher bug, it's old Minecraft crashing for some reason.
Maybe it's caused because the language code in newer versions is completely lowercased ("en_us") whereas in older versions the country part was uppercased ("en_US")
And still, anything below 1.11.2 is not supported here.
When does the crash occur ?
When starting the game or when loading a world ?
Single player / Multi player ?
I have the same problem. It crashes when I click Login. It shows the Mojang screen, then crashes and shows an error.
What error ?
It shows the crash report. Its the same as the poster showed. I posted the crash report in my report. It is noted as a duplicate of this report.
We are having the same issue with the game constantly crashing. I have attached our crash report. It seems to crash when my son presses "E" when he is in his inventory.

Try to solve this fast! I get bored without minecrfat for so long...
There may be some problem with corrupted files.
Rename the .minecraft directory and restart the launcher, the game will then redownload itself.
I have the same place where the crash is but the error log is different. i am on a mac and without mods on the newest snapshot. I attached the error log
Duplicate ofMistakenly assumed the crash log attached was part of the original report.MC-998, based on your crash report.Piotr Kuczynski: LWJGL does not work properly with Java 7 on OS X. Revert back to Java 6 and your problem should be fixed.
thank you, but i tried to revert to Java 6 and i followed what apple said to do but it did not work, does anybody know how to do this? Well i have done some research around and i found out that Apple has disabled java 6 entirely in the newest update and it is no longer possible to revert. So should i start a new "bug" for this case so that mac users are gonna be able to play minecraft?
I'm getting a crash in 13w18c using the launcher.
SOLUTION! My Minecraft was doing the same thing so I started to try to figure out what the problem was, after some experiments I eventually got to deleting the options.txt file then it worked after that!
Did someone experiencing this issue fiddle around with language files ? See
