When you try to make tools nothing shows up in the finished item block
Nothing shows up when you put the items together to make tools, all tools, even swords
Describe what happened here
Not sure what created the bug just logged on one day and tools couldn't be created any more. Tried deleting everything and downloading anew and same result. Put on the bonus box in new world and got some tools but still couldn't create new ones.

Can you provide screenshots on how you try to craft tools and the empty output slot?
Are you using a texture pack that is perhaps not displaying correctly?
If he deleted everything then he wouldn't have the same texture pack.
True, but some servers provide them. Besides, it doesn't hurt to ask.

just found the applications data minecraft folder and deleted that. Same problem. I don't know how o post a screen shot but it just shows a blank box where the tool should show up.
Is this on a bukkit server by any chance?
no just regular running the game.
What are you trying to craft and how?
shovels, picks, hoes, and axes using the crafting box

Yes I know the recipes. I don't know how to attach screen shots. All it shows are the recipes with an empty product box.
Press F2 in-game and click on "Attach Files" at the top of this page. Go into your .minecraft/screenshots/ folder and attach the screenshot.
see no shovel in finished product box, same for all tools
Use wood planks, not wood!
If you've had attached a screenshot as queried in the very first comment of this ticket (8 minutes after you've created this ticket), that would've been resolved already 3 days ago and wouldn't have annoyed so much people.
Next time, please review the guidelines before reporting issues.
sorry i put the wrong thing in the screen shot. It still doesn't work with planks. I am using planks and it still doesn't work
Please attach a screenshot using planks. Otherwise it's hard to believe, because crafting tools seems to work for everyone else.
