Item duplication glitch
Steps to reproduce:
1-Go on survival
2-Take an item, any item
3-Drop the item on the floor
4-Quickly pause and unpause the game for many times
5-In a while, the item will pop back into your inventory and the item will still be on the ground.

Can't reproduce
Indeed, this bug seems to be fixed in 1.12.1. I know that it worked some time ago though.
Wouldn't it be cool if we had infinite deepslate emerald ore though?
