Swimming baby chickens suffocate in blocks above them
I made a 4x4 chicken farm two blocks deep with flowing water at the bottom. I put baby chickens in it via eggs and then tried to cover portions of the pit, such that it was still two blocks deep with a stone roof. The baby chickens began swimming up into the blocks and suffocating a little each time, dying within seconds.
