Yes I'm aware of the search feature. However, given the very limited amount of information provided in MCD-142, I had no reason to assume it was the same issue. You might want to focus more effort on making the game playable and less on condescending to people who come here to report issues in good faith.

I'm having the same issue. I've narrowed it down to being an online problem.
For me: turning on flight mode/ disconnecting wifi will let me go to the character select menu. And as long as I select a local only / offline game, I can play it fine. If I try to select Online Game from the character select screen it won't let me go any further. This usually freezes my options until I press X to change character.
Also, for me: this only started happening after my first play of the game when I managed to load the game normally (online) and link my Microsoft account.
Edit to add: I'm on version 1.1.0.0 on Nintendo Switch
I had commented the above yesterday on bug MCD-142. I've seen a few bugs being marked as duplicates and "resolved" but not much to actually fix them.
I can't say if this will work for others but I've managed to solve this bug for me. I had to erase all of the game's user data including the server backups. Since doing that I've been able to load the game normally a few times, playing through a couple of missions including online co-op. I saved and closed the game between each mission to be sure that I could load the game each time, no problems so far.
I hope this can help others in someway.
Does the issue persist after restarting the game? What are your system specs?

i had this problem on my switch after buying the game a second time and playing on PC.

MCD-459since that ticket is already known to Mojang.I Bought the game yesterday evening and haven't been able to play it yet due to this issue. I have reinstalled the game twice, I don't know what else to do.
