When unloading and loanding chunks more blocks are generated

i don't know but after i update to beta 1.18.0.21, minecraft savefile is moving from Storage > games to Storage > Android > data > com.mojang.minecraftpe. that's make my previous world can't detected either from application and external minecraft settings.

MCPE-145658I have the same issues with both the leaves, lava, and water, but also with the saves. My primary world is on xbox, but my worlds do not show up on windows 10.
Im experiencing it on BDS as well in 1.17.40, with CnC experiment on.
Also experiencing this on 1.17.40 on iOS, and a friend has the same issue too on the same version but on Android
Both of our worlds are over 100MB

This same issue occurred in our realm after the last update. logged in and there was floating trees, leaves, water column have even had complete regeneration of new biomes in already loaded chunks. My base is set up on an island and now where there used to be water is a whole new mountain about 60 block away. There is even instances of finding new ship wreaks with treasure maps that show land when opening the map for it only to be more ocean where the map shows outlined landmass.
Sames happening to me but I’m on creative. It’s also generating in loaded chunks so everything we built is getting flooded with trees, water, etc.
Hi, same problem on ps5, random blocks everywhere, i can't open my World for play because i don't want to ruin it. Please mojang do something quickly 😭😭😭
i think on new update 1.18.0.23 they already fix it or maybe just random bug version. after update the minecraft storage cameback to games folder. I still have my previous version backup around v.1.17.0.40 maybe, and i tried to open it then i got no floating bug where my progessing world had. but the world that already loaded with floating bug need to be manually fix by taking water or lava by ourself. i'm just checking chunks around my base, if there is water or something still generated floating correct me.
It's not fixed. It's still in 1.18.0.24 and even if you destroy the floating leaves and you leave the area far enough and return there will be more leaves that generate. It's very annoying. The same thing happens with the water but not as much.
I added a screenshot of an entire ship being placed in some already generated chunks, i also had half of an amythest Geode generate in an underground base but it seems to have vanished. This is in addition to the water and lava being generated when chunks are loaded. Given that all of these are features it stands to reason that the issue is features being generated again despite chunks having already been generated.
For those affected - do you have a copy of the world save available from before these chunk errors starting appearing?
Are these particularly old worlds that are showing these broken chunks, or can it be reproduced in new worlds also?
This is also the case here for both Xbox and Windows 10. It's completely rendered my old worlds being moved over to the new version very broken. Theres un rendered parts of the map being generated everywhere and it sometimes completely slows down the systems running it.
THESE are old world, of which I didn't have backup of (I should have created a backup of the world, but as it was on xnox I didn't get that luxury as the game just updated there and then and forgot to backup before loading.

MCPE-98789.The issue we're tracking here is regarding some floating blocks (eg leaves, lava, water) which may appear when reloading a world, as shown in the screenshots such as:

sorry i deleted my old world around beta v.1.17, because i thought that beta 1.18.0.23 has been fixed. But after i updated again on beta v1.18.0.24, the bug get worsen, floating block generated more than before. and also the minecraft storage moved again on device storage > android > data > com.mojang.minecraftpe. i always wondering maybe the storage change caused the floating bugs but yet i don't know.
maybe i can share how to reproduce this bugs from creating my own world but i'm not sure :
Steps to Reproduce:
It seems to happen very randomly. I am currently testing a very old world and every time (when reopening with "cave and cliffs) the leaves and the water source appear differently. Version being tested is 1.17.41. Later I will test in beta and provide all the required worlds.
I did 4 trials with a creative bug testing world that was last opened in 1.17.30. For each test I simply turned on Experiments > Caves & Cliffs. In the first two I didn't see the issue happen. In the last two I flew into new chunks, then returned to old chunks and saw floating vines. After saving (without moving) and reloading the latter worlds, it reopened with many more anomalies visible. Here are some comparative screenshots:

Observed results:
Some floating vines are generated above the terrain. As you continue to watch, they grow downward. If you save and reload the world, many more appear, along with other terrain decorations such as leaves and maybe tree trunks.
In my old world, in which I ran tests, it is slightly different than [MCPE Mod] Auldrick.
In my world, if you just turn on "Caves and Cliffs" without loading the territory in 1.17.41, bugs with flying leaves and water are not observed. But if you load the territory at 1.17.41, go out and turn on "Caves and Cliffs" and then fly away from the place where the blocks appear, and then return - the blocks will appear. And this does not apply to loading new chunks, as Aldrick said above. I specially flew there where I previously loaded chunks and the blocks appeared anyway. And the appearance of the blocks (the place of appearance) depends on the load of the territory in 1.17.41.
I also noticed that very rarely leaves can simply disappear on their own. This happened after the reloading the chunk and after the reboot of the world.
*I opened the world a long time ago.

Here's a skyblock world I worked on last on 8/22. Upon opening the world in the current version, I find floating water and leaves in what should be voided chunks.

I just updated my world from the last 1.17 update to 1.18.2 and flew around to find floating leaves on the chunk borders.
