End Portal Crashes Without Fancy Graphics

EDIT: : In 1.0.0.0(build3) the issue is fixed or at least for me.
Steps To Reproduce
0. Turn off fancy graphics if enabled.
1. Do /locate stronghold
2. Find End Portal.
3. Place all but one Ender Eye.
4. Place final one and ta-da. "Unfortunately Minecraft PE has crashed."
For now, the fix is to enable Fancy Graphics which could be a somewhat disappointing bug for slower devices.
1. Open Settings > Video
2. Check "Fancy Graphics"
3. Do Step of 1 of Steps To Reproduce

If you stand inside of the portal while putting in the eyes of ender.
You will go the End just like normal 
! Which I can imagine REALLY helps slower devices.

Can you confirm if you have the 'Fancy Graphics' option on or off? I think the root cause may be the same as MCPE-18140
Could it be related to the two known crash issues? One is related to the graphics setting and end portals (MCPE-18140) the other is related to items going into a hopper (MCPE-18157)

MCPE-18140 is NOT associated with this problem!
There is a know issue with the Fancy Graphics option:
I am able to create the end portal without crashing the game with fancy graphics, at a distance, but if I get close to the end portal my game crashes and and when I get back on the world the endportal completely resets even if I wait over 30 seconds before putting the last eye of ender in the portal.
Just stand inside the portal while placing the Ender Pearls to get to the End without crashing the game
Does this bug affect 1.0.0? If so please respond.
Appears fixed although the texture issue is still there if you want me to I can create a separate bug report as of now it is only happening on my phone(LGE LGMS330) which seems to be a pretty good device. 39-58 fps.
