Villagers duplicate items they pick up
When in village, villagers throw huge amounts of bread in to the ground, and this is so significant that it crashed my world because of the entities; however, I'm not sure what the bug really is: wether they can't pic the bread up, wether they are duplicating it, wether they're throwing it too fast, or wether they're throwing it too much.

EDIT by Zeb :
Steps to reproduce:
- Open attached .mcworld.
- Spawn some villagers in the village.
- Give one of the villagers a stack of bread.
- Observe that they start throwing breads at each other insanely, both the speed and the amount of breads they throw.

The duplication bug has already been reported here: MCPE-20190
Also, I did see bread and beetroots far away from my village; however, I didn't catch them in action, so I don't know if they are throwing items too far or if they are trying to feed the grass ![]()
Thank you for your report. This issue was, however, submitted earlier as MCPE-20190. Please perform a search next time to make sure your bug hasn't already been reported.

This might be a consequence of MCPE-20190, that is, they could actually be trying to pick up leftover seeds but since they duplicate items quite excessively, their inventory becomes full very quickly.
I tested this using the test world from MCPE-20190 and confirmed that, upon spawning, the mobs will not collect the seeds.
My thought is that they may be spawning with full inventory already due to some aspect of or interaction with the trading system Implementation. They can't pick up new inventory since they are full, and then a separate bug that causes the duplication means that the bread is thrown because they have no room for it when it is generated (because they emerged with full inventory)
(win 10 1.0.411.0)
Duplicate of MCPE-20190
Most likely a duplicate of MCPE-20190
Yeah your report contains 2 separate bugs and both of which have already been reported as MCPE-20190 and MCPE-20156.
Dupe of two bugs: MCPE-20156, MCPE-20190
*bread to the ground
And this is also happening with beetroots now, so I assume that they're duplicating every item they get in their inventory, and then they throw them to the ground. It's so frustrating, I can't play in my world anymore
I'm having this issue with carrots and bread. So many items are being thrown on ground around home the world is glitching and crashing.
ikr, super frustrating
Yeah villagers duplicate items they pick up. Try giving 2 seeds to a farmer and see they plant 4.
And I think they can't pick up what was thrown by other villagers either?
It's happen to me, they take my wooden sword after I drop it for my brother, they ran quickly and steal it
@joäo they can pick up all item thrown by player or other villager
Oh, maybe they duplicated the bread so much that now their inventory is full, so they can't pick it up anymore, which is causing 0-1 fps on my world.
I think this might relate to
MCPE-19832Klontola, the picking-up-anything bug is reported separately as
MCPE-20205.I can confirm this has happened to me as of the 1.0.411.0 update today on windows 10. It didn't just seem to be villagers dropping it though, it seemed to be spawning without villagers present, particularly at stone stairs and stone walls.
I was able to stand in one spot and collect hundreds of loaves of bread with no villagers present.
Possibly related, the children villagers were harvesting all farms, but no villagers would collect thrown seeds. In 10 minutes within a village I had a dozen new villager children as they bred like rabbits due to the wealth of food they had.
Attached a test world.
Steps to reproduce:
seen it also happening with carrots and potatoes. I believe the farms throw the crops/bread at other villagers to encourage breeding. The amount is so much other villagers inventories are full and can't pick it up. for me it started with carrots which is what the crop was to begin with. I replaced with potatoes and they started throwing potatoes. I penned up the farmer away from the crops and it stopped. let the farmer lose and it started again.
This seems to happen to MCPE beta 1.0.5 as well. In one of my worlds, villagers are endlessly throwing bread at each other and there are lots of stacks of bread on the spot where the villagers are gathering. They don't leave that spot to go into houses even when it becomes nighttime, they just keep on throwing stacks of bread...
It seems it just gets into a loop. I had a group of three fletchers all passing carrots to one another without stopping.. 8 chests later and going into and then back out of creative to survival it finally stopped. I had to keep each villager in a single cell to stop it happening again.
It still seems to happen in beta 1.0.5.3. However, unlike last time in the previous version, it now only happens to a specific pair of villagers in a village (last version all of the villagers were trying to throw and get bread). A farmer villager is still endlessly throwing bread at a cleric villager, and the cleric villager seems to try to pick it up but it seemed as if it couldn't since there's still bread all over the ground that keeps on increasing. However, the other villagers which are librarians, armorers and butchers seem to wander around the village. They don't even seem to try to pick up the bread whenever they pass by near the farmer villager or the bread entities.
Elainedel, that doesn't sound like it relates to this issue (it sounds like something to do with
MCPE-20156and that the cleric might have a full inventory), and I can't reproduce the bug described in this ticket (villagers duping items) in 1.0.5.3, so I'm resolving this issue as fixed.Wow, just realized I had put the wrong Steps to Reproduce in the description. I've removed it now. Sorry for any confusion I may have caused. :S
Didn't want to create another issue specifically for Realms but this is still an issue. Villagers still seem to duplicate bread when they have only farmed a little wheat. I made a farm where a farmer harvests wheat and throws it at another villager with a hopper in front of him: infinite bread! The villager only harvest 10-20 wheat pieces and now throws infinite stacks of bread into my hoppers.
How to reproduce:
1. Make a wheat farm with a farmer and another villager
2. Place a hopper in front of the non-farmer villager with a chest attached
3. Watch the farmer throw infinite stacks of bread at the other villager after having picked up a few pieces
I'm using Win 10 edition and noticed this issue in Realms world.
Marcel Dewith, that is a separate bug, and has been reported as
MCPE-21324.
