Map markers only show the most recently placed map
Maps will only show a green marker for the last map that was placed in an item frame.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Create a new map
2) Make some copies
3) Place one copy in an item frame on a wall
4) Walk a short distance and place the other copy in a second item frame
Expected result: Two green markers on the map
Actual result: The first green marker disappears, and the only marker visible is the one for the map you just placed. You can go and break the first map and put it back on the wall and its marker will appear, but the marker from the second map will then vanish. Placing any additional copies will also only show the marker for the copy you just placed, while the others are no longer visible.

@jamino: That's a different bug, MCPE-25487. You might want to upvote and watch that one.
This is still an issue in 1.2.0.25, but it took three map placements to break this time in my test world. Placing the first two maps resulted in two markers, but placing the third map erased the other two. After that, placing new maps or removing and re-placing the existing maps erased other markers and showed only the most recently placed map marker.
Update: Also in 1.2.0.31
I am also having this problem on Minecraft Windows 10 edition. After the better together update, all my map markers I had placed in my world disappeared except for the most recent markers on each individual map.
This bug has been reported to our internal bug tracker for further testing and a fix. It is scheduled to be fixed in one of the future updates (no specific date can be provided).
I also can confirm that issue for Windows 10 edition. Even when I load an old Minecraft World (played before 1.0.2.25) where I had successfully marked multiple locations in maps, now all, except for the latest set, are gone.
Please restore old functionality.
It's been over two months now since the bug has been reported to the internal bug tracker, and still no resolution. I find having more than one marker super helpful, and I'm starting to think that the dev team is ignoring this issue. Please resolve this issue!
It has not been ignored and the fix is due to be released in an upcoming update
Thank you for your patience.
Reopened - this was fixed in the 1.2.10.1 BETA, but the fix wasn't included in 1.2.10.2.
still an issue in 1.2.11.
steps to reproduce (tested on several android devices):
create a locator map of any zoom level, place it in an item frame -> green indicator appears
move away to a new spot in the same map, place another item frame, place a copy of the map
expected: a second green indicator appears
observed: the first green indicator disappears, only the second (most recent) remains visible
this can seriously hamper gaming experience for people exploring the world, building new home bases and making them visible on the map with green indicators (from locator maps placed in item frames)...
resolved in 1.2.13 - thank you, good work - after more than half a year i can go back to my world again...
